Can you believe Christie Brinkley is 61?

The supermodel sure has aged well since her days of ruling the magazine covers of the 80s. But when Brinkley stopped by The Wendy Williams Show, she admitted she felt she modeled at the right time for her body type.

While talking about the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Williams asked Brinkley what she thought about this generation of supermodels like Kendall Jenner:

“No doubt these girls are drop-dead gorgeous, this is what our industry considers sporty, voluptuous, full body and Victoria Secret models used to be much fuller," says Brinkley. "In my opinion, I mean they’re gorgeous, yes, but they’re thin. Our industry is getting sort of thinner and thinner. If I tried to be a model today, there’s no way. I would never make it in the industry."

Hmm, we're not so sure about that.

*i'd take Christie's gorgeous body over the super skinny-minnie models of today, any day of the week. (hopefully the following three pics don't get gobbled up by the forum gremlins )

She was a lot better looking than some "models" today like Kindull K.

Kate Upton and Irina Shayk are successful models with curves...I think she'd do okay.

And Kate Upton is average looking with an odd body shape.

We need more models like Christie Brinkley

I prefer models with curves, not stick thin boney ones. Not only her body, but her face is different than what they want now. I'm talking about her 70's-80's look. Many models today are harsh looking, so I do get why she said she wouldn't make it.

She's cookie cutter so what kind of 'making it' is she talking about? Runway, no.

Christie Brinkely is not and has never been curvy to me. Maybe I just have a different definition of curvy though.

Either way she's lovely and I far prefer her to today's models.

Was Christie Brinkley ever a runway model? I only recall her as a print model: bikini shoots, catalogs, etc. I think runway models have always been a different body type than Christie; compare her to runway models of the 70's, and they've always been less curvy than her, IMO.

This poster hung on loads of walls when I was young. Not curvy in my eyes

Brinkley mostly did print, not runway. But print is where the real money is in modeling anyway. Commercial print to be exact, it pays far more than editorial print. And Brinkley was one of the most successful in that area.

I don't think she is or was curvy either. Who would think that? The other models must be fat then.
