Default Bo Derek: Aging is not for sissies

"Commodity," she laughed. "And I've nothing to do with it. I have my mom's eyes, my father's nose. I have nothing to do with any of that!"
These days, at age 58, Bo Derek often prefers boots to a bathing suit.
Her paradise is a 110-acre ranch with spectacular views in California's Santa Ynez Valley. She shares it with her boyfriend of 13 years, actor John Corbett, and their four horses.
Derek is not just a casual rider; she was on California's Horse Racing Board for seven years (most recently as vice chair), and is involved in wildlife conservation organizations. And at this point in her life she says there is some relief in caring a little less about her looks.

"I realize how artificial it is, beauty," she told Tracy. "I realize that it doesn't last forever, that's for damn sure."
"But when you're so well-known for how you look, is aging hard?"
"Aging is really hard," she said. "And it's tough. Bette Davis was right; it's not for sissies, it really isn't.
"And there is a certain expectation. I get credit on one hand for not having had a facelift, and then on the other hand it's, 'Oh my God, why doesn't she do something?' So you're just torn. I just have to keep busy, have other interests, and try not to think about it."

Which is why she is still so drawn to the beach ... a place to reflect on her unconventional journey through Hollywood and a life that she says is still a 10.
"I don't need a lot," she said. "I never needed the adoration or the praise. I loved the work, and still do."

She's 58? I thought John Corbett was way younger than her. Wiki says he's 54. Huh. Who knew. She looks great but it's hard to believe she hasn't had some work done.

Her skin looks bad for 58. She's still beautiful but her skin has taken a hit from all the sun exposure. She's at the point where lighting is everything:

    THAT is bad skin?
    At 58???

She is no where near bad as most 58 year old women I've met.

I call eyebrow lift and mini neck/jaw lift. I am about to turn 58 and my eyebrows are down to my knees along with my turkey waddle double chin.

She's still beautiful, the wrinkles are from too much sun bathing, but other than that her skin is beautiful. The hairdo in the star blouse photo is very unbecoming. She seems to be very kind and compassionate and that's very attractive.

She looks great, it's nice to see a sex symbol not plastic surgery themselves into oblivion.

Bo was twenty three, when '10' came out (in 1979).. my goodness she was just about everyone's perfect 10 back then, even i had a massive girl crush on her when i was youngling'.

She seems like such a sweet gentle soul who adores animals and the environment.., she and John have been together for thirteen years, that's awesome! .. they seem a great match together.. and both so bloody lucky!

I think she looks great. Yeah, she's got some sun damage, but on a whole, she's still a beautiful woman who seems to have had minimal work done.

And she's still one of the most unarticulate celebs I've ever seen.

I think she is really pretty and real looking. I'm so glad to see a female celeb just age naturally.

    I don't know about natural.

I saw her a couple of years back on Chuck. Whoever did the work did a good job; she looked pretty good, but she was super tight and shiny at the time. The face didn't move quite right. Close, but not quite. Proportions are good though. No freakish filler bulges.

I feel like she's been 58 for a good ten years.

I think she looks bad, that is a lot of wrinkles for her age. If that is her age.
