This just may be Elle Macpherson’s secret to looking half her age.
In a revealing interview, in which the 51-year-old model details a number of her health tips and tricks, Macpherson says she swears by pH testers.
When asked by The London Evening Standard what’s the most shocking item in her purse, she shared: “A pH balance urine tester kit to check that I’m in an alkaline state,” said the mother of two. “I believe that most ailments come from having an acidic body.”

Adding veggies and water and limiting salt can affect levels.
Another insider secret to keeping her 6-foot frame in impeccable shape is draining her lymph nodes, which reportedly can flush toxins from the body and provide other benefits.
In fact, it’s the first thing she does whenever returning to London. “[I] visit my nutritionist Dr. Simone Laubscher on Harley Street and Shirley and Dr. Sebagh’s clinic for lymphatic drainage,” shared the Australian-born model, who also says vacations are key for her well-being.
As for her diet, Macpherson — who is known as “The Body” — eats three square meals a day and steers clear of red meat, wheat and dairy.
However, she occasionally indulges in three guilty pleasures: “Green & Black’s dark chocolate, digestive biscuits and Marmite.”

I'm officially moving to LA to be a toxin drainer. I'll charge $350 an hour. There'll be lymphatic toxins, kidney toxins, liver toxins, brain toxins... all kinds of toxins, all needing immediate removal or else you'll get cancer and explode.

Lymphatic massage (drainage) is a real thing, and is a normal course of treatment for people with Lymphedema. I do the massage to my face every morning in the shower. It takes a minute and makes me look better. A woman has been using this technique and calls it the 50 second face lift. Here's a link to her teaching people the technique on Rachel Ray last year. You actually see her lip on one side plump up. LOL

ETA - I do not have lymphedema, but know people who do and rave about the treatment. I just do the one for my face to look younger. LOL

I'll have to try the lymphatic drainage thing. I sleep mostly on my right side and I can tell that side of my face is way noticeably more swollen in the morning. Especially my eyes and cheeks. I look like two-face sometimes when I wake up.

I question whether she is in an alkaline state. I was thinking acid.

I drank some of that crappy alkaline water when I was in LA and promptly got a UTI. Coincidence? Maybe. But I've got a negative connatation now.

She doesn't look the way she does because of any regimen. I can drain my lymph nodes from here til doomsday, it won't make me Elle McPherson. Not that I won't try it though!

Lymphatic drainage may have beneficial effect, but it will not flush toxins from your body. I'm all on board with vacations being good for you, though.
