Greg Plitt dead: Fitness model and Hollywood actor killed by train - Mirror Online

A TV fitness instructor, actor and former Calvin Klein model has been struck and killed by a train in LA.
Greg Plitt, 37, died yesterday afternoon when he was hit by a Metrolink train after witnesses saw him near the tracks with a video camera in his hand.
One friend says he was filming an advert for a protein shake at the time.
Pitt was a renowned fitness instructor who had recently appeared in a reality show on Bravo called "Work Out", and is due to feature in a new reality series called "Friends to Lovers" later this month.
He had also acted in a number of Hollywood films, with roles alongside Robert DeNiro and Matt Damon in The Good Shepherd, and he was cast in Terminator 4 alongside Christian Bale.
He was also a body double in superhero movie Watchmen.

Sounds like it - who stands on the tracks with a train hurtling toward you, blaring its horn - and you do nothing??? Oh yeah - this guy.

I watched Work Out but can't for the life of me remember him. Sounds like he had a few missing brain cells.

I think I read that he may have stumbled just as the train was passing. Regardless, hope death was quick and painless. 37 is way too young to go.

My husband (engineer) has told me many times that by the time you can see the train, you basically have seconds to get out of the way. This is especially true if the train is not braking and is going full speed- by the time your brain has processed that the train is there, it's close enough to hit and kill you.

NickDrea, your husband and his co-workers must see some crazy and traumatic things in their line of work.

My thoughts are with the Train Driver, who's life has changed forever because of Greg Plitt's need to look tough and hardcore in some fitness advert.

He doesn't drive trains, he's actually just a regular civil engineer, but transportation is one of his specialities. He's had to work on the rails (subway rails as well) so he is very familiar with trains. I'm always really worried when he does that, especially after everything he's told me about trains.
