Default Madonna describes new album leak as 'artistic rape and terrorism'

Madonna has sparked outrage after describing her new album leak as “artistic rape and terrorism” in the wake of high-profile global attacks in Sydney and Pakistan.

The US singer had been working on Iconic when it appeared unfinished online earlier this week.
Eleven songs were leaked, including “Rebel Heart”, “B***h I’m Madonna” and “Unapologetic B***h”.

The 56-year-old quickly took to Instagram to thank loyal fans for “not listening” to the tracks and clarify that they were “unfinished demos stolen long ago”.
However, while her initial reaction was relatively calm and controlled, a later response proved far more inflammatory.
Madonna has since deleted her post but reports claim it read: “This is artistic rape!! These are early leaked demos, half of which won’t make it on my album. The other half have changed and evolved.
“This is a form of terrorism. Wtf!!!! Why do people want to destroy artistic process??? Why steal? Why not give me the opportunity to finish and give you my very best?”

Unsurprisingly, her comments ignited social media:

Dear Madonna, No one cares if your music got leaked. I didn't even know you were releasing an album. Rape & terrorism aren't metaphors.

Madonna calling her album being leaked a form of terrorism and artistic rape. Really?! still clinging to controversy to stay relevant then

Nicki Minaj, Diplo, Avicii and Ryan Tedder have all worked on Madonna’s new album, the title of which has yet to be officially confirmed.
Her last album, MDNA, came out in 2012 and led to one of the highest-grossing tours of all-time.

I wish she'd just fuck off now. She isn't controversial, she's just tiresome.

Rihanna's last album was called Unapologetic. I guess it's all gone full circle and instead of everyone copying Madonna, she's copying everybody else.

    Absolutely!

The only things that are going to get artistically raped are our ears and the wallets of anyone silly enough to buy her crap... Also could she be arrested for eco terrorism for unleashing her toxic waste (music) on the World.. hey now there's a thought!

I can't stand vadge but it absolutely is a violation. The idiots at jezebel were losing their shit over this, saying it was an insult to rape and terrorism victims but I think she's right. It's not a physical violation but it's a violation of privacy and of artistic expression and freedom. Just like coming home to a house that's been burgled is a violation, or being mugged.
It doesn't matter if this happened to Madonna and her album was going to suck anyway - that's beside the point.

It is definitely a violation, but nowhere near on a par with rape and/or terrorism. I'd be mad as hell, too, and she's right, she was violated, but to compare it to actual rape or terrorism is bullshit.

No one likes Madonna so although the premise may be right no one cares because it's her.

Silly Old Daniel is bang on the money.
