Wow, in seeing other photos of her, I didn't recognize her from being in La Bamba. She was great in that!

No fucking way. I hate this. She radiated intelligence, and I always thought she had the loveliest, most interesting face. She was great in two unusual movies from the 90s I still love--John Sayles' "Lone Star" and "Jacob's Ladder" with Tim Robbins. Perhaps it's time to watch both of them again. I also loved her avowed refusal to play stupid Latina stereotypes. How sad that she's gone so young.

Oh, man, I had such a ladycrush on her voice. I love husky voices. And she was a fantastic actress. She blew me away in Lone Star. 55 is way too young to go

To me, she will always be Rosie from La Bamba who was married to Esai Morales' character, Bob.

    RIP. Wonderful actress.

This is from the 25th Anniversary of La Bamba and Elizabeth is the first interview.

I too admire her for all those reasons. And I think she would have been an even bigger 'star' if she hadn't been so selective, and I admire the hell out of that choice.

RIP, Betty. That is just way too young.

And she played Sofia Vergara's MOTHER? Her sister maybe, but her mom...? I must not have seen her in a long time cause she'll always be stopped in time in my mind like she is in this pic here, in the red shirt. RIP.
