Default Angelina Jolie and Stella McCartney Collaborate on Disney Clothing Line

Though Angelina Jolie has gotten in the jewelry and wine businesses, fashion collaboration is something that she has largely stayed away from—until now. With the help of Stella McCartney and Disney, the superstar has helped with a capsule collection of children’s clothing inspired by Maleficent. McCartney, who has partnered with Disney before on an Alice in Wonderland costume-jewelry line, in 2010, and featured Disney characters in her 2009 ad campaign, tells WWD, “I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did.”
The line, available in April, will include eight styles, featuring purple princess dresses and dragon t-shirts for girls and boys ages four to 14, and will range in price from $75 to $185. Ten percent of the proceeds sold in Stella McCartney stores will benefit SOS Children’s Villages.
Here’s betting that Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne are the best spokespeople.

What parents in their right minds are going to buy these clothes, which are essentially costumes, at a price of $75 to $185, for their kids? Might as well wait for the onslaught of movie related merchandise that will come out and be sold at Wal Mart, or for the $20 Halloween costumes.

Well, jack the price up a few thousand and Goopy might get them for her kids.

This is probably the only part of this collab that I can get down with

Although I can't lie, I will probably get a Maleficent costume for Halloween... or maybe just to wear while running errands - I haven't decided yet

Those costumes are actually pretty crappy. They could have been a lot better.

Make sure you charge some obscene amount - this way the public (sorry ladies) get ripped off, but believe they are elite since they are paying through the nose.

Stella McCartney has never had a design I've liked (if I did like something of hers I forgot about it), also the prices are outrageous no matter what charity they are giving a percentage of sales to.

You can get better-designed (and better-looking) costumes at your local Party City for $50-60 cheaper.

You only live once... why not have a little fun and be a little silly, right??

My friend and I actually did this. It was a somewhat boring afternoon so we decided liven thing up and dress up before we had to go grocery shopping. I was Snow White, she was Cinderella. (She worked for Disney at the time and had these amazing costumes just sitting in her closet (not the actual costumes the actors wear walking around the park, but pretty darn close licensed costumes).

Anyway, we went to Vons and had the the time of our lives.... we made everyone smile, we took pictures with children, people took pictures of us shopping... It was so random, but so much fun. My friends and I are total nerds like that

An Elsa costume was going for $1500 on ebay recently. So I suppose these aren't a stretch, all things considered.
