Default Ireland Baldwin: 'Modeling is much harder than I anticipated'

    BRUCE WEBER/DUJOUR

Ireland Baldwin in the pages of DuJour’s fall issue.

Ireland Baldwin may still by 17 for another month, but she's already well on her way to a successful modeling career.
The blond bombshell posed for DuJour Magazine in a shoot for photographer Bruce Weber that aimed to evoke the spirit of the country Ireland is named for.
"Modeling is much harder than I anticipated," Baldwin, the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, told the magazine. "It really takes a lot out of you. Though, it is really fun and I never thought I would meet all these lovely people."
One of the things that Baldwin didn't anticipate? Internet haters.
"I wish I'd known to avoid internet comments," she said. "It's best just to ignore them and reject any negativity."
Baldwin revealed that her end goal is to end up on the silver screen like her parents.
"My end goal is to act, write, and direct," Baldwin said. "I am interested in everything in front of and behind the camera. Acting has always been an interest of mine. I have been imitating people since I was a little girl. I grew up on my parent's movie sets and so desperately wanted to be in their position."
"I truly admire Chloe Moretz," Baldwin continued. "I think she is brilliant and could kill any role. I also love Jack Nicholson. 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and 'The Shining' are two of my favorite films. He can do no wrong."

Modeling is always hard for people that really shouldn't be models. And wouldn't be if not for famous parents. My heart bleeds for you, Ireland.

    She isn't a blonde bombshell.

She is the blonde daughter of a blonde bombshell. She isn't ugly, but she's not 'bombshell' material.

Gosh, is writing copy so hard that one has to resort to this?

I'm sorry, for the life of me, I can't imagine being a model is hard. Not at all. Boring at times, maybe. All the sitting around and waiting while they light shots, do your hair and makeup, the stylist fussing over you, etc.

    She must lurk here, then.

She's not a bad looking girl, but she's no Kim Basinger, either.

Well, yes and no. There are many Irish who have adopted the kilt as part of their celtic identity. I went to a kilted irish wedding last year, heh

Yeah, my 100% Irish bf had kilt love. Drove 8 hours one way just to buy one.

Exactly. And I get so tired of the tabs touting her as some great beauty. She's not a "bombshell" by any stretch of the imagination. I actually think she's very average looking. There's nothing particularly interesting or unique about her looks, and she's not someone I'd give a second glance to on the street. The photo from DuJour is unintentionally hilarious. She looks so out of place and unnatural, especially with the man, who actually does seem to be a legitimate model.

The hardest part of being a model for me would be the whole not eating thing.

Yep, and Welsh, Cornish and Manx men have adopted the kilt too. My fiance and I both have Scottish heritage (Irish as well, in my case) and I live in fear that he'll get it into his head to wear a kilt when we marry. Not. Happening.
