Default Fundamentalist Musilms assail Paris Hilton after opening up a store in Mecca

(CNN) — As an American socialite and hotel heiress, Paris Hilton has built up a global brand on her sexy image — and sometimes very few clothes. But many believe she has gone a step too far in opening a store selling luxury items in the Muslim holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.Hilton’s rise to worldwide fame was boosted in part by a homemade sex movie that went viral online in 2003, days before the debut of her reality TV series “The Simple Life.”This does not sit well with many in Mecca, which attracts three million Muslim pilgrims from around the world every year. All Muslims who are able are expected to make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their lifetime, and non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the city. Most Saudi women cover themselves fully with a black abaya.

Ugh. This is hating the right person for the wrong reasons. I really hate to say it, but if there were no market for this piece of trash's boutiques, they wouldn't open.

I'm confused about the outrage. Are the purses supposed to be covered with abayas or something?

I'm confused how religious zealots always know about people's sex tapes. Oh wait....

Hey, speaking of that, did you hear that crazy story about the anti-gay, religious zealot who was arrested in Canada for helping produce a kiddie p*rn video? It broke a couple of days ago. Not sure if it was posted yet.

since there's already a hilton hotel in mecca - that is probably booked by lots of wealthy muslims who visit the city - it's a bit hypocritical to get worked up over a store.

    (the view looks amazing, btw.)

I didn't know that. So Parasite herself wont be spreading her VDs in Mecca because she can't enter the city; it's just overpriced purses with a her name on a label.

No, I don't think that story was posted. I saw something about a anti-gay woman who was having an affair with an underage person, but I can't remember where I saw that. It's amazing how many of these nuts are out there, I can't even keep them straight.

From what I've read, in Muslim countries women who do wear burquas are still very into fashion, and dress under the burqua in the latest trends so that when they meet in social situations with just the women, and they are allowed to remove the burquas, they sort of compete regarding who has the latest and greatest, fashion-wise. I can't remember the name of the book -- think it might have been "A Thousand Veils of Desire," but not certain.

    , I read that story:

Lisa Biron, Anti-Gay Christian Lawyer, Arrested On Child Pornography Charges (VIDEO)

    Snippet from the article:

"A New Hampshire lawyer associated with an anti-gay Christian defense group was arrested on federal child pornography charges after allegedly taking a teenager to Canada where she reportedly convinced the girl to engage in sexual activity and let it be filmed.

Lisa Biron, a Manchester, N.H., lawyer associated with the Christian litigation group, Alliance Defending Freedom, was arrested by FBI agents on Friday morning on charges of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography and five counts of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Concord Monitor.

Federal prosecutors said Biron transported a teen girl from Manchester to Ontario, Canada, on May 25 and coerced her into engaging in sexual acts with another person that were then recorded, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

According to the Concord Monitor, prosecutor Helen Fitzgibbon made the case for Biron to be held without bond because other juveniles have been subjected to Biron’s sexual activity and drug use; witnesses have testified to seeing Biron in possession of ecstasy, marijuana and cocaine; and Biron texted a friend saying she may flee to Cuba.

Police had been investigating Biron since Sept. 29 after receiving a tip she had child pornography on her computer, according to the Union Leader."

the road to mecca is split up in two lanes: one for muslims and one for non-muslims. a couple of kilometers before actually reaching mecca, the lane for non-muslims starts to curve and you're directed away from the city. you'll see it from afar but you won't be able to reach it.

Get this - Lisa Biron (her name) was arrested in the USA for having child porn on her computer. She was released on bail, and a few days later arrested again in Canada setting up a porn film with another teen girl. Sounds like she had a deadline to meet for investors.

    I'm following this story casually.

I had an internet conversation with a recent US Muslim immigrant to Saudi Arabia (she was heavily in debt. Moving to SA with her step-family would keep the creditors away.) She claims that these all female parties can get really "raunchy" and loud. Yes, women spend crazy money getting ready for these parties and the competition for friendships with the prettiest women mirrors the US high school competition to date the popular boys.

Thanks, that was the story I was thinking of! I probably saw it on my news alerts on my phone.

That's really interesting about the the road, I didn't know that. My neighbor just went on the Hajj, but we never really talked about how only Muslims can go to Mecca. I always had wanted to visit there.

Yes to all of this. Women in Saudia Arabia are probably always wearing "Western" clothing underneath the abaya. It might have calmed down a bit in recent years, but I think they cover up completely underneath in case the wind blows the abaya up. They usually have an entire outfit on underneath - not shorts or a little tank top either. They love clothes and makeup, and a lot of raunchiness just like we do, they just keep it inside the gatherings and parties.

The one thing I don't get is how they don't constantly fall over from the heat from wearing all that black over an entire outfit.
