Jamie Foxx is set to join the cast of 'The Amazing Spider-Man' sequel and will take on the role as supervillan Electro, according to Variety.com.
The Hollywood star is reported by the website to be in talks to become Peter Parker's latest arch-enemy in the new sequel.
While the new role is still yet to be confirmed, Foxx hinted that he is already preparing to play the evil character.
"Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well," Foxx wrote on Twitter.
While director Marc Webb has also subtly winked at Foxx's possible casting, when he was quizzed on the 'Django Unchained' actor possibly lending his services at promotional events for the 'The Amazing Spider-Man DVD release, he said: "I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying! You'll be hearing more on that shortly I'm sure."
Filming for the new Spider-Man flick is due to begin next year, with the movie's release scheduled for May 2014.
