Gillian Anderson is sadly adding longtime love Mark Griffiths to her ex files.

"Gillian Anderson and her partner Mark Griffiths have amicably separated after six years together," a rep for the actress, 43, tells Us Weekly exclusively.

The duo, who never wed, share sons Oscar, 5, and Felix, 3.

The X-Files and House of Mirth actress has been married twice before. She and film art director Clyde Kotz, with whom she shares daughter Piper, 17, divorced in 1997; the star and documentarian Julian Ozanne were married for two years before parting ways in 2006.

Following her role as Miss Havisham in a 2011 PBS miniseries adaptation of Great Expectations, Anderson has a full slate of projects in 2012: the films Mr. Morgan's Last Love, I'll Follow You Down and The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet, plus BBC miniseries The Fall.

The rumors of her and David Duchovny being a real life couple are seriously starting to make me wonder. And because I am an X-Files supernerd from wayback, I happen to know that today is Duchovny's birthday. The plot thickens.

Re-reading it, I'm wondering if I don't recognize who "Mary" is from another board. If so, it's possible she did actually know what she was talking about.

Poor Mary. She came out of the gate too hot and let her freak flag fly early.

I think it was sputnik that said in that thread that we needed a Mulder and Scully sextape for Christmas. It's looking promising!

It is and there's a subset of XF fans that get crazy into it and another that gets aggressive with their denial. They're always on the cusp of a meltdown and they have many years of fandom and knowing each other to draw off of. I don't really give a shit either way what Anderson or Duchovny do in their personal lives, I just think it's entertaining.

But I wouldn't mind a Mulder/Scully sextape for Christmas.

LOL, you're probably right about her knowing of what she spoke, but she wouldn't give details! IIRC.....

I can't remember, but I thought there was some kind of conspiracy theory about her 5 year old- like she was cheating on the previous husband when she got pregnant and it was speculated it was this new ex or David's baby. I know the x-file stand went apeshit over it, saying it was a scandal.

Google isn't my friend right now....

^ Years ago the rumor went around that her oldest kid was Duchovny's. That girl would probably be pushing 18 by now, but I have no idea what she looks like or if she looks like him. I have no idea if it's b.s. or not, but who knows, I'm sure actors fuck on location all the time. She got preggers with her 3rd kid while filming the last XF movie and people went nuts again thinking that she was having another of his kids. There's a middle kid sandwiched in there somewhere and I don't know if they've somehow managed to make it DD's or not.

I was an X-Files fan back in the day, but I never wanted or cared if they got together IRL. I totally believe they hooked up at one point on the show but never dated seriously.

However, last year Enty had some blind item that he later revealed as GA and DD. It claimed they had reconnected after the series (filming one of the movies, wasn't it?) and were involved, and that her youngest son was actually Duchovny's. What totally gave me pause is that she got pregnant with that kid while filming the second X-Files movie and that corresponded to one of his breakups with Tea Leoni.

Also, I have a friend in London who told me that Mark Griffiths is gay and that he bearded for Ginger Spice (who is not gay, but needed a public boyfriend at the time for some reason).
