Hilary Duff out in LA as hubby Mike Comrie announces retirement

With her first child due next month, things are going to change pretty rapidly for Hilary Duff.

She'll find that sometimes people afford a woman with a child more courtesies than she'll have been used to in the past.

And she'll be able to take advantage of those handy parent and child spaces when she heads to the shops.

She could've done with one on Tuesday, as she came back to her car to find a parking ticket tucked under the windscreen wiper.

Los Angeles is notorious for its parking rules, which vary from street to street and are therefore easy to violate without realising.

And singer Hilary has, of course, got bigger things to contemplate as her due date hurtles towards her.

Luckily, she'll have plenty of support from her significant other when her little boy arrives.

Duff's husband Mike Comrie has announced his retirement from professional ice hockey.
The 31-year-old shared the bittersweet' news with his NHL colleagues and fans yesterday.
Comrie's decision comes two weeks after the sportsman underwent major hip surgery for the third time in five years.

Retiring: Hilary Duff's husband Mike Comrie has retired from professional ice hockey just one month before the couple's baby is due to be born

'My career has afforded me a series of phenomenal opportunities to play and become friends with some of the greatest people I have ever known and some of the greatest players who have ever played the game," he said in a statement.
Of course the Canadian player has the full support of his 24-year-old wife, who also shared yesterday's news via Twitter.

'As many of u know mike has announced his retirement,' she wrote on the social networking site.

'Its a bittersweet day! He had a wonderful career! but 3 hip surgeries in 5 years is alot!'
The permanent break will no doubt allow Comrie to focus solely on his family, which is very soon about to expand.

The couple's baby is due to arrive next month, and Hilary was quick to point out that they are about to embark on new chapter.

Comrie has enjoyed a career in hockey spanning 11 years, playing for five different NHL teams, most notably for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He most recently played as a center on Canadian team the Edmonton Oilers.
Meanwhile Hilary is continuing to keep in healthy shape in the lead up to the birth of her baby.

The Lizzy McGuire star showed off her burgeoning baby belly as she walked out of a Pilates class in Los Angeles over the weekend.

She went for her session after enjoying a light morning meal at Jinky's Cafe in Studio City.
Hilary just recently received the news that her baby is healthy and on track.
Last week she tweeted her fans: 'Early morning dr appointment. Baby's looking perfect! So it's a great day..except for my ribs..which get a good solid kick every half hour!'

Hilary definitely looks like she's gaining all over. I think both Hilary and Jessica are predisposed to be a lot rounder than they usually allow themselves to be. They both have to work hard to be thin and toned, and I think they'll both have a hard time losing the weight post-pregnancy.

As I was scrolling down I was thinking how much better she looks than Simpson, actually. If Jessica is only 7 months pregnant, I shudder to think what will happen in these last two months. Her tits are epic. Hilary Duff just looks normal pregnant to me.

some prego chicks just gain weight in their bellies/breasts, some gain it all over. not sure if this means they'll have a harder time losing the weight post-pregnancy.

I think Hillary looks a lot better than Jess, and Jess isn't that bad. They're both short, which magnifies any weight gain.
