Britney Spears is getting engaged to boyfriend Jason Trawick, TMZ has learned.

Multiple sources who are definitely in the know say Jason plans to pop the question tonight ... in Las Vegas.

We're told Britney knows they're getting engaged, so it's not going to be a big surprise.

Sources say Britney's conservators have given their stamp of approval. The matter will go before the judge in the conservatorship case but it's virtually certain Brit will get the judge's sign off.

And we're told ... Jason did it the old fashioned way ... by asking Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter.

And they're also doing it the new-fashioned way ... we've learned there WILL be a prenup.

Britney Spears I'M ENGAGED ... maybe

Jason Trawick may have jumped the engagement gun ... 'cause Britney Spears just posted a message hinting that he ALREADY popped the question ... and she said yes!

Britney just went to her Facebook page and wrote, "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo."

TMZ broke the story ... Trawick had planned to ask for Britney's hand in marriage during their trip to Vegas ... and the smart money was that it was all SUPPOSED to go down tonight. Seems he just couldn't wait!

Sources close to the couple tell us ... Jason organized a MASSIVE celebratory dinner tonight at the Chocolate Lounge at the Sugar Factory in the Paris Hotel ... because Brit Brit LOVES chocolate.

We're told there will be a chocolate fondue and all the men will get chocolate truffle cigars.

After dinner ... the gang is set to go to Chateau nightclub and party the night away.

We're told everyone involved in the fiesta has received specific marching orders -- anything Britney wants, Britney gets.

Is this a legitimate relationship? I thought I remember reading in another thread from someone who had some sort of inside information that is was common knowledge in the industry that Jason has a live-in boyfriend or something like that.

I like Britney and have always rooted for her, so I hope she's happy. How will the consevatorship play into this? Will it be dropped, or will it transfer from her parents to Jason?

Trawick is no longer working as an agent, including for Britney. Gee, with no job, I wonder how he has the time and money to travel the world with her and babysit her and her kids, all while buying expensive cars and clothes....hmmm, what a mystery!

Britney Spears ** formally got engaged to longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick ** on Thursday night in Los Angeles, and the Spears clan has welcomed their new future son-in-law with open arms, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As RadarOnline.com was first to report on November 15, Spears knew the engagement would happen by the end of the year, after her blockbuster world tour was over.

Unlike Brit's first two marriages, with Jason Alexander, which lasted a whopping 55 hours before being annulled, and to back-up dancer, Kevin Federline **, her family is ecstatic at her choice of husband this time round.

"Brit's folks are simply over the moon that Jason will become a member of the family. Her parents love and trust Jason with their daughter," a source close to the family tells RadarOnline.com. "For a long time it was uncertain if Britney would ever be able to find true happiness and love because of her various mental health issues, but Jason is so patient, loving and understanding, and fully supportive of Britney. Jason is very close to Britney's mom, Lynne."

Media reports circulated on Friday morning that Britney would get engaged in Las Vegas Friday night, however, that was never the plan.

"Jason proposed to Britney Thursday night in Los Angeles. He would have never proposed to her in Las Vegas because she got married there. Jason and Britney will be celebrating their engagement in Vegas with friends tonight though. It will be an engagement/birthday celebration for Jason," the insider reveals.

The engagement-birthday celebration pictures and exclusive details have been sold to People magazine.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, there are several obstacles Spears must overcome before tying the knot though.

Britney won't be getting married until several lawsuits that have been filed against her, including one by her former manager, Sam Lutfi, are settled or dismissed. Settlement talks between lawyers for the Spears conservatorship, and Lutfi's camp are underway, which could be resolved early next year.

"Lawyers for Britney's conservatorship have been successful in keeping her from being deposed in the Lutfi litigation, and the lawsuit involving her Elizabeth Arden fragrance," the source shares. "First of all, everyone involved wants Britney to get married once the conservatorship has been lifted. She could get married under the conservatorship, but the judge would have to sign off on it.

"If that were to happen, lawyers repping Lutfi would absolutely go into court and argue that if Britney were able to get married, she should be able to be deposed. There is no way Team Spears is going to let that happen. It will likely be a long engagement, which is fine with Britney and Jason. They are 100 percent solid and very much in love."

Meanwhile, it will be a very special holiday season for the entire Spears family.

"Britney has never been happier or healthier, and that is all her father Jamie has wanted since taking conservatorship of his daughter," the family insider tells RadarOnline.com. "Once the lawsuits are dealt with and handled, lawyers for Jamie will go to court and ask the judge to end the conservatorship. Judge Reva Goetz is the only person that can end it. If that happens, the wedding will take place almost immediately."

Not that I buy it for one second. Pics of her still show empty eyes. She seems led around like a child. I don't think a grown assed man would be all that interested in a child zombie either. Pure PR nonsense.
