Brooke Mueller to go to "extreme" rehab in Mexico?

Brooke Mueller, the troubled ex-wife of actor Charlie Sheen is said to be entering a rehab facility in Cancun, Mexico in her latest attempt to get off drugs.

The 33-year-old who has been through rehabilitation programs several times over the years, plans to try something new.
She will reportedly undertake an intensive seven day treatment plan that includes a drug called Ibogaine meant to help her kick her habit for good.

It was thought that Brooke was doing well, but earlier this month the former actress was photographed carrying what appeared to be a make-shift crack pipe.
It came after she had just completed a 45-day out-patient rehab session for drug addiction.
But Mueller told friends that she uses the pipe to smoke marijuana and it's perfectly legal because she has a cannabis prescription for anxiety.(and aren't we all booking appointments with our Drs to get one of those as we read this?)

According to TMZ, Brooke will spend a week in the facility in Cancun to try and get clean.

The drug being used, which is banned in the United States, is a hallucinogen extracted from an iboga plant.

Some experts believe it rewires the brain, helping people overcome their addictions.

Sources tell TMZ, Brooke is referring to the program as 'extreme' and she's confident it will work.

Just a few days ago, the mother of two was involved in an incident on a plane which was bound for Cancun.

There were claims she was removed from the flight after being rude to airline staff, but she’s insisted she got off as she felt unwell.

It’s thought she’s been receiving medical attention since the incident occurred.
Brooke, who has primary custody of her two-year-old twin sons with Sheen was most recently in rehab in May.

In recent scenes of the reality TV show The World According to Paris, in which she stars alongside Miss Hilton, Brooke admitted: 'I'm kind of missing Charlie a little bit.
'Her assistant was quick to say: 'I don't understand what you miss ... I mean the last year of your marriage you were miserable.'
The couple's stormy marriage officially ended back in May when their divorce was finalised.

Brooke Mueller: I'm Off Your Frickin' Airplane!

Brooke Mueller got into it Tuesday with the crew of a United jet from L.A. to Cancun, and it's unclear if she was removed from the plane or just got off in a huff.



Sources close to Brooke tell TMZ ... just before the plane was about to push back from the gate, Brooke felt nauseous and said she needed to go to the bathroom. The flight attendant told her she could not get up, and things then got heated.

Brooke insisted she had to throw up, but Brooke is telling people the flight attendant rudely replied, "Tough." Brooke then went ballistic and demanded to get off the plane. She says her wish was granted.

But a witness on the plane tells TMZ ... Brooke was "belligerent and cussing out the flight attendant" so she was removed from the plane.

I saw a documentary about Ibogaine and these Mexican clinics. I think most people use it to kick heroin addiction. Anyway, the guy in the documentary stayed clean for about 6 weeks before using again. He came back and was living with the same people in the same environment. She needs to change her friends and pretty much her entire life to have the best chance of staying sober. I don't think she will.

Here's an example of an extreme rehab: Locking her ass up in a padded room with a throw up pail and letting her detox off of everything.

With no makeup, hair stylists, designer clothing, cell phones or cameras allowed.

Yes exactly. I don't think she will be able to do it either. I read something about her complaining what a hard time she had at clubs when everyone else is drinking. You can't go to clubs anymore! She essentially has to get rid of all her party friends and make friends who are interested in being drug and alcohol free.

I don't think most addicts can smoke pot either. You get in a relaxed state, then your guard comes down. Many times that leads to relapsing. At least that's been the experience with my cousin who has drug problems. She get herself together for awhile, then thinks she can handle a little drinking, smoking some pot, then lands back at square one. It's mainly because her party friends always come back into her life. The cycle begins again.

OMG, this is funny! True, Mexico is really dangerous right now. It's scary. I wouldn't trust any clinic down there for treatment. If the the right connections hear she's the ex-wife of an American celebrity, they'll kidnap her and serve her head to Charlie on a platter.

This. She should move away and meet new people who don't have anything to do with drugs. It's the same with LiLo. They will never kick their addictions as long as they are in a surrounding where drugs are so easily available.

She did drugs & rehab all her adult life, from what I can gather. She did them in Florida, she did them in california, wasn't that DUI from when she was @ college & in her early 20s? That's her whole adult life doing drugs on & off.... Before Charlie, she dated folks like Owen Wilson... Her best friend was Rebecca Gayheart, anyone else seeing a trend here?

I don't only think that she needs to change her whole circle of friends (& drop that twat Paris Hilton like a lead weight), but also needs to addresss the underlying causes coz until she dies that she's just going to yoyo between detox-rehab-using for the rest if her short life.

Just read up on this ibogaine stuff.. it's supposed to cause intense visual hallucinations plus a significant period of calmness so you can be introspective and think about why you're so fucked up. Sounds really fascinating. 80% success rate according to Wikipedia.. don't know how substantiated that is, but sounds impressive. But it won't hold if she continues to thrive in this bullshit Hollywood environment.. enablers love a train wreck.
