Linda Hogan: I was afraid Hulk would kill me‎

The ex-wife of wrestler Hulk Hogan has revealed how she lived in fear that he would kill her in a drug fuelled rage.
Linda Hogan said she was often physically abused by her famous husband and feared she would be killed.
She said on one occasion he pinned her to the bed with her hands around her throat.
'I did not want to end up a statistic, like Nicole Simpson,' the 52 year old said on the NBC Today show.

Nicole Simpson was the wife of OJ Simpson who was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband.
Linda revealed the dark side of her 25 year marriage to promote her autobiography Wrestling the Hulk - My Life against the Ropes.

In her book, she writes: 'He tore my shirt, held me down on the bed with his hands around my throat. I was always afraid he would kill me in one of his rages.'
Linda said she never told anyone about the violence as it would have ended her husband's glittering career as one of the biggest stars of professional wrestling.
'I was quiet and afraid to say anything,' she said.
'Had I said something the carpet would have been pulled from under his career.
'But it was scary. I did not know how far he would go.'
The couple split in 2008 after her husband had an affair with one of their daughter's friends.
She told interviewer Matt Lauer that she found out her husband had cheated on her ten years into their marriage.
The couple, who have two children Brooke and Nick, appeared in a reality show called Hogan Knows Best as it featured their life in Tampa, Florida.
But Linda said the show hid the strains in the marriage which began ten years after they wed when she discovered her husband had cheated on her.
'That was the turning point, when I found out he had an affair ten years into the marriage,' she told interviewer Matt Lauer.
'It was hard trying to re-build.It shocked me.'

She was asked about her husband's drug use and admitted he took sterorids, often to combat the pain of injuries from the ring.
'Wrestlers had a reason to do every kind of drug and narcotic around and help numb them from the pain of what they were doing.' she said.
'Drugs were around, there was a constant flow pain killers inflammatory and a lot of them did take steroids.'
Asked why she did not say anything about the drug use she added: 'That was not my position to do.
'As long as he was in the ring and they were being prescribed that was up to him. But it did change him.
Since splitting with Hogan, Linda has been seeing a man who is 30 years her junior.
Hogan, 57, is one of the most recognisable and famous wrestlers from the WWF, a 12 times world champion who has also starred in a number of Hollywood films.
He refused to comment to the Today show about his wife's claims and biography.

She's so full of shit. If any of this was true, she was happy to live the life and ignore the alleged cheating and beatings for years and years and years. She obviously wasn't afraid to leave him and date a guy her kids' age, so I don't buy it.
