Default Gwyneth Paltrow orders run down loft to be transformed into 'affordable' luxury pad

Everyone knows Hollywood stars can be demanding.
But when Gwyneth Paltrow ordered a team of decorators to transform a run down loft into a luxury pad - in just 10 days - she surely took the term Prima Donna to new levels.
While most actors filming on location would be content with a five-star hotel, Gwyneth decided for her short stay in Nashville to shoot upcoming movie Love Don't Let Me down, only a bespoke apartment would do.

Immaculate: Gywneth Paltrow's temporary two-bedroom living space while she shot 'Love Don't Let Me down' in Nashville, Tennessee , which was created in just ten days

Bespoke: The flat, as seen on Gwyneth's website Goop, features a kitchen fit for the actress's passion for cooking

Despite the 'limited independent film-scale budget', kitting out the Iron Man star's temporary digs cost well over $10,000.
The 'affordable' features included a $1,200 free standing bathtub, $1,615 coffee table and $249 coffee machine.
The mother-of-two revealed her dramatic makeover plans in online weekly newsletter Goop after enlisting the help of interior designer Anette Joseph.

Before: The run down loft, which was described as a 'shell' was gutted and transformed by a crew working around the clock to adhere to the strict timeline

Overhaul: Workmen spent 18 hour days in the apartment, and ate on location to keep momentum going

The celebrity stylist claimed she and her team worked around the clock to ensure they stuck to the strict timeline.
The nightmare job included a crew of over 30 men and involved condensing a three-month job into ten days.
Annette was responsible for interiors, fittings and fixtures, after meeting the actress to decisive iron out the details, which she claims to have purchased at 'bargain prices.'
Anette told Goop: 'I only had 10 days to plan, tear down, construct and decorate the apartment (a 3 month project condensed into 10 days.)'

Luxury: The marble bathroom features a free-standing tub and separate shower

Kitted out: Furniture alone cost over $10,000 despite being an 'independent film-scale budget'

'One trick was that we never let the 18-hour crew leave to eat lunch, we brought lunch and all ate together to keep the momentum going.'
'(Gwyneth and I) met in the apartment, which in a word was a shell. The big challenge? How to make this space a beautiful yet comfortable landing pad for a busy woman and her family, temporarily living in the South.'
The new flat came complete with hi-tech kitchen, marble bathroom and 'borrowed' artwork - and a bunkbed for children Moses and Apple.
Anette said: 'Gwyneth does a lot of cooking and we agreed that the kitchen needed some alterations. I assured her I would make it a cook’s kitchen.

Hard work: The complete look took over 30 men and designer Anette Joseph spent the time shopping for Gwyneth's fixtures and fittings

Child's play: Gwyenth had a bedroom made for her two children, Apple and Moses

'Since this was a temporary situation, and Gwyneth is an art supporter and designer, I had no problems borrowing important pieces from the galleries.

How the other half live: Gwyneth, pictured at the National Movie awards, has attracted some criticism over her website

Anette however, is aware that perhaps mere mortals would not have access to many art collections.
She said: 'Unless you are a stylist working in TV, film or Magazines, or a designer working on a temporary space, borrowing artwork is not an option.
'I strongly believe all people should purchase and live with fine art.'
The film star, 37, has attracted criticism in the past with her newsletters, which promise readers can emulate her 'ordinary' lifestyle.
But often the site promotes radical diets and expensive fashions.
Last April, Gwyneth claimed using shampoo could lead to cancer, a theory dismissed by scientists.
And the avowed vegetarian also discussed the delights of cooking the perfect roast chicken on a video link.
Gwyneth, married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, said: 'I give advice because I felt like I had a lot of really useful information that I was privileged enough to get, because I have this amazing, super, fortunate life.'
Love don't let me Down is out this year and stars country singer Tim McGraw and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.

So how much does Goopy earn for each business mentioned in the ad?

Why didn't the kids stay with their dad in London? Aren't they in school? There are so many things wrong with this while project Inc the hours worked by those renovators!

It's half term at the moment.

Why did her house in Belsize Park take so long then? It could have been done in no time!

    Gwyneth Paltrow
has moved into the Icon, a luxury building in Nashville, while filming "Love Don't Let Me Down." But her rep denied claims of diva behavior. A source had told us that the production laid out more than $100,000 for renovations to a penthouse for Paltrow, hubby Chris Martin and their kids, Apple and Moses, and that Gwynnie brought along two bodyguards, two nannies, a chef and a personal trainer. But Paltrow's rep emphatically denied any renovations were done and, "She is not traveling with a personal chef or trainer. Her children are with her for half of the four-week shoot and she has a nanny and one security person with them while she is working."

The phrase "important pieces" makes me want to hit both Goopy and her designer over the head with a brick.

I live in TN and I know of where she stayed. She is fibbing a bit with all of this.

Here is where she was staying...

Icon in The Gulch | Condos in Downtown Nashville, TN

This is a very new building. I have no idea as to how it held up with the flooding.

She did not move into some tore up living quarters and re did them. She moved into a very, very new place and had it gutted and re done to fit her own view of design.

Here is a better web site of where she was staying...

Icon In The Gulch :: Nashville’s Hippest Urban Condo 615-770-7040

So, what Gwyneth did was kinda like what Joan Crawford did when she married Alfred Steele as portrayed in the movie "Mommie Dearest." Anyone remember the line: "Tear down that BITCH of a bearing wall and put a window where it OUGHT to be."
