Oh break my heart Matt Lauer--say it isn't so.
Matt Lauer accused of cheating! News has surfaced that Today Show's Matt Lauer has been cheating on his wife, model Annette Roque. Lauer married Roque in 1998 and have three children together. Scandalous fact: during Roque's third pregnancy she and Lauer separated--filing for divorce in 2006, however the couple reconciled.

National Esquire reports that Matt Lauer was caught cheating and left his wife. Roque, also known as "Jade" in the modeling world, has been suspicious for a long time. This news is too much for me...Matt Lauer has always been an idol of mine, Where in the World is Matt Lauer? What the heck was he thinking?!
Apparently the other woman is 26! and married! Seriously?! I'm at a complete loss for words. Can someone please explain why every month there is a different cheating scandal with some powerful man? Ladies we need to watch out for each other, cut the crap.
Matt Lauer please don't break my heart and confirm that these cheating rumors are true, I'll have to switch to watching Good Morning America in the am and THAT I am NOT Ok with.

It's reportedly over between Matt Lauer and his wife of 12 years, Annette Lauer, and RadarOnline.com can bring you all the details behind the split.

Amid new accusations of cheating leveled at the father of three by his Dutch-born model wife, the National Enquirer report that 52-year-old Lauer has moved out of the family home.

According to a Today show insider, the couple has been living apart for two months, and fed-up Annette is no longer wearing her wedding ring.

According to the Enquirer, Annette accused Lauer of cheating during the Today Show's on-site coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Colombia, which occurred between February 9th - 26th.

Suspicions were first sparked when Matt stood Annette up for Valentine's Day, choosing instead to stay in Vancouver, where a source says Matt was often spotted boozing and flirting with women - in particular two pretty Canadian broadcasters.

To add fuel to the fire Matt decided to stay behind in Canada after the Today Show crew returned to New York at the end of the Olympics.

Annette, reportedly was informed of her husband's flirting by the wife of another staffer, got the names of the two female broadcasters he was spotted getting especially cozy with, and confronted Lauer upon his return home.

Lauer denied all accusations, insisting the women were just friends, but after two non-stop days of fighting finally moved out into his own digs.
This isn't the first time Lauer has allegedly cheated, two years after their 1998 wedding, Annette reportedly discovered Matt had carried on a secret affair with a married woman just months before their wedding!

In 2006, while pregnant with their their third child, Annette filed for divorce, feeling she could no longer trust her husband, but subsequently withdrew the divorce petition after one month.

According to the show insider, "Matt is trying to keep this [split] on the down low." In addition, sources say that Lauer's NBC bosses are pressuring the presenter to maintain his image as a solid family man to appeal to his largely female audience.
The source goes on to say, "Matt is still very involved in his children's lives. He goes to the family apartment after he finishes his Today duties to see the kids - and picks them up from school.
"For their sake, he and Annette plan to continue getting together on weekends - and they'll go to their house in the Hamptons."

Weird but a family freinds who works in production for the Today Show said the staff do not believe he cheated but that due to past issues Annette is very jealous and always accusing him. They believe he just got so tired of the accusations and fighting and decided enough was enough. He also said 90% of what is reported here is false and that while in VanCouver Lauer did socialize but other staff members were with him at all times and saw nothing. He said that Matt is well liked and respected by the team at the Today Show. Take it for what it's worth but I thought I would share it. It seems like a confirmation though that they are not living together.

Man, there was a whole lot of cheating going on with The Today Show during the Olympics. Who's next, Al?

Can't say I am surprised as there have been cheating rumors swirling around Lauer for several years. I am still surprised the wife took him back the last time they separated.

On the other hand, I can't say I can fault him for not coming home for Valentine's Day while working the Olympics. (I'm assuming the wife was not also in Vancouver) Lauer was working and that is part of the job. He is going to miss certain holidays and events. Everyone who has a spouse who travels is well aware of this and knows what kind of life they are getting into ahead of time. It's not like he missed Christmas or something.

I love me some Matt Lauer... have for about 20 years now. Big deal, they've separated. Happens all the time. I just hope a bunch of hos don't come crawling out of the woodwork with Matt!

That was actually what I was thinking while I read the story. He screwed up a few years ago and had an affair and she just never could trust him again - not that that is hard to understand. That's why I believe that if you catch you SO cheating, you may as well divorce because forgiving can be done, forgetting is so much harder.
