Charlie Sheen Surrenders Custody of Sam & Lola

TMZ has learned Charlie Sheen has surrendered legal custody of the two kids he had with Denise Richards.

Sources intimately familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Charlie and Denise signed a written agreement in which Denise now has full legal custody of 6-year-old Sam and 4-year-old Lola. Up to now Charlie and Denise had joint legal custody.

Sources say Denise wanted full legal custody given Charlie's current marital turmoil, sobriety issues and criminal problems ... and Charlie didn't put up a fight.

We're told the agreement was signed two weeks ago but the parties didn't want to file it with the court just yet.

Now that Denise has full legal custody ... she can make medical, schooling and other important decisions without getting Charlie's sign-off. She can also leave the country with the kids without Charlie's permission.

Under their divorce agreement, Denise has primary physical custody and Charlie has visitation rights.

We've learned Charlie has been paying Denise $50,000 a month in child support since their divorce. As we first reported yesterday, according to Brooke Mueller's prenup with Charlie, she'll get $55,000 a month in child support plus add-ons -- like medical and schooling expenses -- and that could drive the monthly support upwards of $125,000.

Calls to attorneys for Charlie and Denise were not returned.

yes, but demise's kids had a father that didn't want them on tv.

Isn't her show canceled? That didn't last long... thank god! I hope she doesn't start up a new one.. we have Kate to deal with. Oh sorry Twist of Kate *barf*

Side note: haven't we always spelled cancelled with 2 L's. Why does my spell check say it's wrong and it should only have 1 L? Did I just miss that in school and it has always been spelled like that?

Nope, my Yahoo spell check confirms that two Ls are correct.

It should have one "l" but because of common usage with 2 l's, both are now considered correct. Your spell check is just old school.

My spell check say one "l" too. I Googled it. One "l" is American, two British.

Interesting. The difference between British and American spellings always fascinate me. I think the differences only came about because Americans were too damn lazy to write extra letters. (I say that as an American.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess this means Two and a Half Men will be on until Charlie and his brother are in a nursing home.

What the hell does a person do with $50,000 a month in child support? I mean, he's probably already paying for daycare/private school. That's $600,000 a year! Although he makes how many hundred thousands per episode of 2 1/2 men?

Thank you guys!!! It has been driving me nuts for a while now and every time I send an email, calling off a Trial, I worry that someone will think.. the girl can't even spell..lol. I didn't think to google it.. I forgot the golden rule!

I never understood him jumping out of the frying pan with Denise into the fire with Brooke. He really is a dumbass. He should have stayed single and had no more children. He just isn't good at being married.

I was thinking the same thing! Who the hell needs that much money to raise their kids??? A monthly payment equal to what a lot of people make in one year!
