Now, hereís something you havenít read about the Red Sox [$68 million man Josh Beckett: Heís engaged to a rocket scientist!
Itís supposed to be on the DL, but we hear the Sox starter popped the question to Holly Fisher around Valentineís Day when they attended the Daytona 500 together.

In fact, there was a photo dated Feb. 14 on Flickr - Yahooís photo-sharing site - of the blond brainiac flashing her rather large square-cut diamond on a private plane.

Youíre going to have to trust us on this one. The pic in question is no longer available for public viewing since our attempts at contacting future Mrs. Josh, who works as a space-engineering consultant on the West Coast, apparently tipped her off that we were onto them!
But itís some bling - and Josh bought it before he scored his four-year contract extension!

Now, it appears that Beckett and his future bride both graduated in 1999 from Spring High School in Spring, Texas. So reunited high school sweethearts? Perhaps.

He went into the minor leagues after graduating and she left Texas for Floridaís Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where she graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering in 2004. While working at Boeing - right out of college - she scored a Master of Science degree in Astronautical Engineering from University of Southern California.
We assume this was some kind of a whirlwind courtship because it was just more than a year ago that Beckett gave his ex-squeeze, Whitney Hayes, her walking papers.
No word on a wedding date, but rest assured it will be in the offseason. Mazel tov!
