KATE Winslet, who split from husband Sam Mendes earlier this month, has revealed she is "no stranger to heartbreak"
Actress Kate Winslet announced her split from husband Sam Mendes earlier this month and, in a rare interview, she says heartbreak and rejection have never come as a surprise to her.
Talking before her split, Kate told OK! Magazine: "I’m no stranger to heartbreak or rejection. I’ve always been quite emotional, but when something like that happens you have to find a way to move on.
"I went through that as a teenager. I was always falling for the wrong guy, or I was the girl who never got the guy."
The 34-year-old says she works hard to spend as much time with her family as she can, even taking her children with her when she's filming abroad.
She told us: "Sometimes there is a lot of stress. In my case, it’s mainly the logistics of not wanting to be away from your children too much. But Sam and I try to make sure that we go everywhere with the kids, especially on longer trips.
"It feels odd to be away from my children because even though it’s only for a few days, I miss them terribly because I’m not used to being apart from them."

I know Kate annoys some people, but I really like her. She's beautiful and a great actor. I'm sorry to hear that her marriage has broken up; I thought that one might just last.
It's stories like this that make me wonder if relationships are ever really worth the bother, if a talented, beautiful, wealthy woman like Kate can't hold onto her man (who is obviously a complete dick).

I like Kate. For all her success, she's always struck me as very real and down to earth.
As for her marriage, I don't think it should be a great loss to her. From what I've read of Sam, she's much better of without him.
why did she and her first husband break up? She's a hard worker, now a working parent. Maybe marriage isn't in the cards for her. you read about so many of the actresses and actors in old Hollywood being married for 3-8 times. I think a lot of actresses and actors marry for the wrong reasons. I don't know, but what i do know is multiple marriages with actors and actresses, as well as affairs have always been more so in the old days of Hollywood. It was not even a secret. The Gabor sisters married several times, Elizabeth Taylor. Katherine Hepburn's open affair and affairs out in the open between actors and actresses. I really wonder why our generation is so surprised at affairs of celebrities and marriages breaking up. It's been this way every since the beginning of Hollywood. Just read the stories of wild parties, swingers and open marriages.
