Miley Cyrus: "I've never heard a Jay-Z song"
It appears that a Jay-Z song wasn't on!
Miley Cyrus -- whose hit song, "Party in the U.S.A." includes a line about her nodding her head to one of the rapper's tracks -- says she doesn't know which of his songs inspired the lyrics.
"I've never heard a Jay-Z song," the singer, 16, said in an interview before her Halloween concert -- in which she was dressed as Pocahontas -- in Louisville, Kentucky this past Saturday. "I don't listen to pop music."
Then how did it get in her song -- which was recently No. 1 on the Top 40 charts?
"I don't know, I didn't write the song, so I have no idea," she said of the tune, which was written by a songwriting team of Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly and Jessica Cornish. "Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn't write it and ... I didn't expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best."
Although she said "Party in the U.S.A." is "not even my style of music," she is thankful for its success.
"I'm really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed," she said. "God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people."
Later, when asked about an artist she has heard before -- her father, Billy Ray Cyrus -- the Hannah Montana star says she has no plans to shout out any of his songs, like the 1992 hit, "Achy Breaky Heart."
"No, no thank you," she said. "That's like covering a Jay-Z song. That's not going to happen."

Bullshit. Miley's heard Jay-Z's music. She's just pissed that his album is outselling her's by a mile.
And the 'I don't listen to pop music' comment is stupid because 1) that crap she calls music is considered pop and 2) Jay-Z is hip-hop, not pop.

Maybe I am crazy but I believe that she doesn't know any of his songs because I have not heard any of them either.

I couldn't tell you if I'd ever heard a Jay-Z song either. If I have then it will have been incidental and I won't have known it was one of his.

^ Me too. But then I don't listen to the radio anymore. I just can't stand it, it's either bad hip-hop, AI, or emo bands.

I rarely listen to regular radio now. I've found a great UK based classic rock station on the net and I have that on instead. No more boy band teeny-pop, no more cover versions of classic songs speeded up with an irritating dance beat behind them and no more over-processed, over-hyped, throwaway shite. It's bliss

What a load of crapola! Yeah, right, she has never heard of a Jay-Z song. Even my immigrant mother has heard of Jay-Z's Hard Knock Life song and she liked it for some unknown reason. Why, she even knows of Bay-once. That's what she calls Beyoncé.

I love Jay-Z! Izzo (H-O-V-A) is my morning pep-up song!
And Miley can go to hell. For many reasons.
But basically turning around and saying you don't like the music you release just means you're a media whore who doesn't deserve your fans. At least try to fake it! (What am I saying?! Like you'd expect more from pop music!!!)
The sooner she's replaced by the next trainwreck the better.
And I've never actually heard a Miley song, either. To my knowledge. Can't say I have any desire to, either!

She was interviewing with some guy and his two very little kids and was probably playing to some very conservative, Disney-fied audience. Though I wasn't aware Jay-Z was controversial.

He turned the song from ' Annie' into a crossover rap hit! Hard Know Life... And she should have listened to at least one before she lied about it in her song!
