Default Kate Middleton looks ready to join the Royals as she attends children's charity event

Lady in waiting: Kate Middleton pulls off the regal look in a grey halter-neck dress at the Starlight Children's Foundation charity event

Kate Middleton looked every inch the Royal in waiting, playing hostess at a children’s charity auction.
With Prince William at her side, the 27 year-old dazzled in an elegant full length grey halter-neck dress teamed with a diamond bracelet on Saturday night.
Kate was hosting a table at London’s Saatchi Gallery to raise money for one of her favourite good causes, the Starlight Children’s Foundation – a charity which grants wishes for terminally ill youngsters.
And while she mingled, William looked relaxed as he chatted and laughed with delighted children at the event.
The night proved to be very much a family affair with party-planner parents Michael and Carole and younger sister Pippa, 25, also at the £100 a head black tie event.
Kate’s sister turned heads in a black and white striped, knee length sleeveless shift dress.
Meanwhile Mr Middleton and his wife, who wore a daring coral mini dress, donated a party for 20 youngsters as one of the prizes.
Speaking last year about her daughter’s work for the charity Mrs Middleton, 54, said: ‘Kate has been the inspiration behind our involvement with Starlight Children’s Foundation, a UK charity that helps brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting their wishes and providing hospital entertainment.’

The foundation was founded by Dynasty actress Emma Samms and has become a firm favourite of the Middleton family.
Kate has already raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity.
In June last year she organised The Boodles Boxing Ball at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel which was attended by William, his brother Prince Harry and his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
William's old Eton classmate James 'the Badger' Mead topped the bill at the society fight night.
The event raised more than £100,000.

Charity: Prince William meets 11-year-old Sophie Roberts (2nd on the right) whose dream to be a popstar was made true when she sang for guests at the party, with Kate Middleton in the background

Party time: Pippa Middleton is pictured at the Starlight Children's Foundation party, while Prince Harry is seen leaving Raffles in Chelsea - he was joined by brother William, Kate Middleton, her parents and her sister

After the event, William and the Middletons joined his brother Harry at a favourite haunt of the young Royals, Raffles in Chelsea.
The princes stayed at the club until 3am, although Kate's family left a little earlier.

Future in-laws?: Carole and Michael Middleton arrive at the charity event, which was also attended by their daughters Kate and Pippa, and Prince William

Kate was pictured earlier in the day sporting a sparkling new watch on a visit to the hairdressers.
The dazzling timepiece has led some to compare Prince William's girlfriend to a WAG, as footballers' wives are often seen wearing similar kinds of 'bling' jewellery.

Why would anyone want to join the Royal family? I know theres money, etc., involved but it looks like a smothering lifestyle.

The Queen must have gotten out the cattle prod and poked Layabout Kate with it a few times.

If they're smart, which I am not sure of, they will embrace her to help the monarchy with their PR.

I don't know what the big deal about this girl is. She looks mannish and old, and her sister looks worse.

Do they smoke? Because they're young women!

Someone pls enllighten me - why does she look so damn old, haggard - and she's only 25 or 26? Her sister looks aged as well. Lets not discuss William- he's already know for his lack of longevity in the looks department

In the UK the sisters are seen as serious social climbers
Her sister is dating a Churchill now and has had a long lists of noble rich men.

I don't know. Smoking, dieting, partying? The mother looks better than the daughters for her age.

I'm in the minority, but I think Kate is a beautiful girl. She always looks well dressed and put together and I think she has a lovely face.

I really like her dress here. I like her mother's too, but I think it looks a bit young for her - it would've probably looked better on Kate.
