Mischa Barton out snortin and boozing after rehab, world registers a collective 'meh'

Mischa Barton's friends fear her partying could jeopardize her rehabilitation and health.

The former 'O.C.' actress - who was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last month - has infuriated her close pals by partying at the All Points West music festival in New York just days after her release from hospital.

Family friend Eric Ziegenbein told Heat magazine: "It's scary to see her out right after she's received treatment. When I found out she'd been partying again, I was shocked. I thought she would chill out for a bit.

"The fact she was out right away proves she's not taking things seriously enough. It was like a big 'f**k you.' She's too proud and independent sometimes."

The 23-year-old starlet spent two weeks under a 5150 hold - which allows people to be forcibly held if they are deemed a danger to themselves or others, are gravely disabled or have a mental disorder - after friends became concerned she was suicidal.

It has been alleged the actress' drink and drug use was affecting her career and personal.

Another friend, Suzanne Coppin, is frustrated Mischa isn't listening to the advice of loved ones and is trying to deal with her problems alone.

She explained: "She has a support group, but it's obvious she's ignoring them. I'm disappointed she's not taking advice and is still doing her own thing."

This is not the first time the actress's friends have voiced concerns about her wellbeing.

Earlier this month, they openly expressed their fears she had returned to work on her new TV series 'The Beautiful Life' too soon after leaving hospital.

One said: "There still are issues. Mischa's just not herself at all. I think she's gone back to work too soon."

The hair and make-up department certainly had their work cut out for the yesterday after Mischa Barton arrived on the set of her new TV show looking right mess.

The troubled actress rolled in for another day of filming in Manhattan sporting a make-up free face and lank, wet locks.
She capped off her bedraggled look with an unlit cigarette.

Clearly embarrassed by her unkempt appearance, the former O.C. star quickly reached for her sunglasses as photographers scrambled to get a shot.

She then proceeded to smoke her cigarette before making a dash to hair and make-up on the set of up-coming American drama The Beautiful Life in downtown Manhattan.

Later she emerged, clad in her high-waisted shorts and orange t-shirt, with her hair perfectly set and her make-up firmly in place.

Since leaving the care of a psychiatric until for alleged drug problems actress Mischa has thrown herself back into her work.

She plays a drug addict model in the show, produced by Ashton Kutcher, and yesterday filmed scenes where she looked back to her glamorous best.
The actress was all smiles and looked much healthier than she did a few weeks ago when she appeared bloated at the launch of Harrods summer sale.
But although Mischa appears to be back to a clean bill of health, friends of the star have *accused her of not taking her rehabilitation seriously.
Last month Mischa was placed under *involuntary psychiatric care at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles. But days after her release she was seen partying in New York.

A source told Heat magazine: 'The fact she was out right away proves she’s not taking things seriously enough. It was like a big ‘f*** you’. She’s too proud and *independent sometimes.'

While friend, Suzanne Coppin, said: 'I’m disappointed she’s not taking advice and doing her own thing.'
