    In the first episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 to air since the couple announced their split last month, Kate Gosselin says she has a new outlook on life.


    "It is my new attitude that I'm going to do things I've never done before," says Kate, who is interviewed in a one-person armchair instead of the loveseat she'd shared with Jon during the last five seasons. (She also shows off her bikini bod in the same show.)

    "This is what has stemmed out of all that -- 'I can do,'" continues Kate on the episode, which airs on Monday.

    She also says her eight kids are doing well despite the divorce. (Jon and Kate take turns staying with the children in their $1.1 million home.)

    "They are still kids, they still enjoy things," Kate says. "They still want to do things.

    "It is not their fault that what has transpired has transpired," Kate adds.
    On Wednesday, Jon took three of his daughters to the dentist in Reading, Penn. Earlier that day, he organized a scavenger hunt for his kids while TLC cameras rolled.
    He spent the weekend in the Hamptons with Michael Lohan and Kate Major while Kate played with the kids at home.

    Jon Gosselin joked around with photographers Thursday outside his $1.1 million home in Wernersville, Pa., throwing on one of his estranged wife Kate's hats as he chatted on his cell phone.


    Earlier in the day, with the TLC reality cameras rolling, he helped his daughters make tin can phones.

    Jon has been playing Mr. Mom since Tuesday when he was first spotted back in Pennsylvania. This week, he helped his kids on a scavenger hunt and took them to the dentist.

    Kate hasn't been spotted at the home, as she and Jon have agreed to alternate in and out of the home.
    Following a month-long hiatus, new episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 return to TLC Monday.
