Bailiff for Mr Bovey: Moment legal papers were served on Anthea’s husband after financial meltdown

He famously threatened to sue anybody who suggested he was suffering financial difficulty.
But this is the moment the tables appear to turn on Grant Bovey as he is served with legal papers that could lead to him being declared bankrupt.
Anthea Turner’s husband - whose buy-to-let property empire Imagine Homes collapsed last year with £50million debts - was given the papers outside the £6million home he bought recently.

    The bailiff outside Bovey's home

Mr Bovey, 48, was involved in a tense exchange with the bailiff on Friday when he arrived home in his £60,000 black Range Rover.
The drama comes weeks after the couple were forced to sell their £11.5million Surrey mansion and downsize to the smaller house, previously owned by DJ Chris Evans, in a nearby village.
Yesterday, a spokesman for Mr Bovey’s lawyers Mishcon de Reya said: ‘Proceedings have been served on him and will be very robustly defended.’
It is understood that Mr Bovey is personally liable for the alleged debts referred to in the papers. If it is found that the debts are genuine and he fails to repay them, he could face a High Court hearing to declare him bankrupt.
    Grant Bovey and Anthea Turner

Mr Bovey’s confrontation with the bailiff is the latest episode in the financial woes to hit the couple. Last year, they cancelled their annual summer charity ball in the grounds of their former home, citing the economic downturn.
The gala evening, attended by celebrities, had run for five years, raising £1.5million for charity.
After Mr Bovey’s company crashed at the end of last year, the couple could not afford to maintain the mansion with its swimming pool, polo field and home cinema.
After reportedly selling it to an unnamed Russian for £11.5million, they have moved to the nearby village of Hascombe.

Ms Turner, also 48, is furnishing the home in keeping with the BBC3 show she once presented, The Perfect Housewife.
The new house still boasts four en-suite bedrooms.
Celebrities living nearby include actress Penelope Keith, rock stars Brian May and Brian Ferry and racing driver Damon Hill.
Last year, Mr Bovey handed over his Imagine Homes empire - once Britain’s biggest buy-to-let business - to Halifax Bank of Scotland after suffering company debts of £50million.
When Lloyds bought out HBOS, it inherited the debt. The state owns 43 per cent of Lloyds, so £20million of Mr Bovey’s debt was passed to the taxpayer.
When The Mail on Sunday challenged Mr Bovey about the financial stability of Imagine Homes a year ago, he replied: ‘I am sitting in our £5million chateau in Megeve in the Alps.

‘I will sue anyone who says that Imagine Homes is in financial difficulty. We have huge profits that have yet to materialise.'

Anthea and Grant enjoy a holiday in the Alps

But documents filed at Companies House reveal Imagine Homes made a loss of £6.4million to spring 2007. It also suffered a loss of £2.8million the previous year.

Mr Bovey was forced to sell the French chateau overlooking Mont Blanc a few months after the company’s collapse.
Within months, he had set up Distressed Property Company, which buys new homes developers have failed to sell because of the recession and re-markets them.
His ability to bounce back has infuriated his creditors, many of whom are allegedly owed tens of thousands of pounds.

The smaller £6million home recently bought by the couple

Still going strong: The couple married in 2000

Cleaner Dawn Shields, 43, filed a £7,800 claim for four months’ wages she said she was owed. At the time she said: ‘I find it infuriating. Bovey is living in a multi-million-pound house. I’m owed money, while he lives in luxury.’
Mr Bovey left his wife Della, the mother of his three girls, for Ms Turner in 1998 after they had a clandestine affair while she was married to DJ Peter Powell.
After Mr Bovey’s business crashed, Ms Turner became the face of Flash cleaning agent and they reportedly earned £100,000 by appeared in reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen.

Recently, there were claims that the pair angered Simon Cowell by outstaying their welcome in his box at Ascot races.
In a recent interview, Ms Turner said of their financial difficulties: ‘Grant would come home and tell me there was £5million off the portfolio and you’d think, “s***”.
‘I know our situation isn’t in the same league as someone who is going to lose a house or not be able to afford a bus fare, but it’s still shocking to lose what we have.
‘I know we aren’t going to be homeless. It isn’t about money, it’s about losing face, pride, everything you have worked for.’

Funny thing that the paper has forgot to mention... if the company is limited it is only liable for the debts that it has assets to cover, its not like this dude is a "sole trader" (when you loose everything except your bed & cooker). I really don't think that he is going to care much. He's "alright jack" he's got his £6m home (and I bet that is in her name!), etc etc.

I used to live downstairs from them in their London Penthouse and she comes across as higly strung, deeply insecure and needy.

They are both so pleased with themselves and totally out of touch with reality.

I bet his ex wife is dancing with glee at their fall from grace.

They haven't got much to be pleased about. They will have to start advertising chocolate bars again.

Anthea Turner kicks out husband Grant Bovey over 'affair' with woman, 24

    • Property developer Bovey is alleged to have started the relationship while the television presenter was working in Canada
    • Bovey left his first wife for Turner in 1998
    • Turner is said to be relying on support from his three daughters

Anthea Turner has kicked her husband Grant Bovey out of their £5 million home after confronting him over claims that he was having an affair with a 24-year-old woman.
The television presenter asked property developer Bovey, 50, to leave the five-bedroom property in Esher, Surrey, last week after being told by a friend that he had been seen kissing a young woman in a London restaurant.

Bovey is said to have admitted being friends with the woman but denied they were having an affair while Ms Turner, 52, was working on a Canadian TV show.

Considering her future: Anthea Turner, with Grant Bovey, is said to be devastated

A friend of Anthea’s told The Mail on Sunday: ‘She confronted Grant last week. She told him she wanted to know what was going on.
‘He said, “You went off to Canada, I met this girl, but she’s just a friend.”

‘Anthea didn’t believe him. She had been told by someone she trusted that Grant had been seen out with this girl in London and they looked more than friends.

'Someone saw them kissing in a restaurant. Anthea is heartbroken.

‘She is not taking phone calls because she can’t help breaking down in tears.’
Bovey left his first wife, Della, for Ms Turner in 1998 and the couple married two years later.
He is understood to be staying at a London hotel while Anthea – who is being comforted by her stepdaughters Lily, Amelia and Claudia – considers her future.

The couple's £5 million Surrey home, with Anthea has asked her husband of 12 years to leave

The couple managed to keep hold of their luxury home, despite Grant being declared bankrupt last year

On Friday Ms Turner, a former GMTV presenter and once one of the highest profile women on television, gave no hint of the couple’s problems when she posted a series of messages on Twitter.

She tweeted: ‘Olympic goulash being made bunting up. Party tonight for opening ceremony so exited [sic].’

She continued: ‘@ameliabovey @claudiabovey @lilybovey all watching the most amazing TV spectacular Olympic opening. Proud to be British.’
A source close to the presenter said Lily, 20, Amelia, 19, and Claudia, 16, remained her priority and their support had helped give her the strength to kick out Bovey.

The source said: ‘Anthea is very close to the girls and wants that relationship to continue.

'She doesn’t want to be seen being nasty about their dad but right now she wants to take some time out to consider her next move.

‘Grant was declared bankrupt three years ago and since then Anthea has been working in Canada to keep their finances afloat.

The pair married in 2000 after meeting two years earlier, when Grant left his wife for Anthea

'She did three series of her show to earn money and keep the family together and while she’s been working hard, he’s been doing this.

‘She would go to Canada for three weeks at a time, then come back for two weeks, and it was while she was away that she believes this was going on.’

Ms Turner found fame on Blue Peter, breakfast programme GMTV and BBC’s Top Of The Pops and was once married to former Radio 1 DJ Peter Powell.

But her squeaky clean image was shattered when it was disclosed she was having an affair with Bovey, who was a family friend.

Their wedding in 2000 was a public relations disaster when it was revealed the couple had signed a £450,000 contract to pose for a magazine shoot while eating a new chocolate bar.

Ms Turner subsequently struggled to find mainstream presenting work and took part in Channel 4’s reality series Celebrity Big Brother in 2001.

She and Bovey moved into the property business, launching Imagine Homes, which became Britain’s biggest buy-to-let property firm.

But it was one of the first victims of the financial crisis when it went into administration in 2008 with debts of up to £50 million.

Anthea Turner with her husband Grant Bovey and his three daughters outside 10 Downing Street in 2006. The trio, Lily, 20, Amelia, 19, and Claudia, 16, are said to be supporting their step-mother

Bovey was discharged from bankruptcy in March 2011 and a month later he and Ms Turner moved into their new home in Esher, which appears to be worth £5million... where neighbours include former England football captain John Terry and quiz show host Chris Tarrant.

Two years ago Ms Turner signed up to appear as a judge for Canadian reality series Dinner Party Wars, on Food Network Canada.

During the programme couples are rated for their skill at hosting dinner parties.

A spokesman for Ms Turner said last night: ‘Anthea is devastated.

rant Bovey's former wife forced to sell country home she bought with divorce settlement

    By Richard Kay
    PUBLISHED: 01:28, 4 July 2012 | UPDATED: 08:34, 4 July 2012

When husband Grant Bovey ran off with the TV star Anthea Turner, spurned wife Della had the bitter consolation of a generous divorce settlement that allowed her to buy the mansion of her dreams in the idyllic West Sussex countryside.
But now the 48-year-old mother of three is being forced to sell the five-bedroom home after a real-life love drama worthy of a racy page-turner.
For Della, who repeated romantic history when she dumped Bovey’s replacement, second husband property developer James Williams, for a local builder Steve Logan last year, has to find the money to fund her divorce settlement.

Selling up: Della Bovey has been forced to put her £800,000 property on the market in order to fund her divorce from husband James Williams

Bitter irony: Della bought the home with the money she received from her divorce settlement from Grant Bovey, who left her for TV presenter Anthea Turner

She has put the £800,000 property in Pulborough on the market. Her estranged husband James, 47, is demanding a substantial share of the house sale price after he helped fund £400,000 worth of improvements at the property.
Della, who was incandescent when Bovey bolted with the former Blue Peter presenter Anthea 13 years ago and subsequently married Williams in 2001, now lives in the property with Logan, 50.
Logan’s former partner Carol Glenister, 52, who has an 11-year-old son by him, described the situation as ‘ironic’ and confirmed that her family had been long-term friends of Della.
Della paid an estimated £400,000 for the secluded property after divorcing Bovey on the grounds of his adultery in 1999. Now divorce proceedings from Williams are pending, also on the grounds of adultery, this time on the part of Della.
‘It’s ironic Della has had to put the mansion paid for by Grant on the market to pay off the husband she cheated on,’ says an acquaintance.
‘She had the place mortgage-free when she married James, but they developed and extended it together and remortgaged.
‘James wants his share of the house and the only way to pay for it is to sell the property and for Della to buy something else. She is not happy about it, but as they say: “What goes around comes around.” ’
Meanwhile, Della’s former husband Bovey lost his £150 million property empire three years ago. He and Anthea had to move out of their £11 million Surrey home, with Anthea admitting she’d been reduced to shopping at bargain chain Lidl. But still lives in a £5million house? If only I could be that poor...

And the ex wife he left for Anthea has now left her husband for another man? Good night. Those two cheaters should've stayed together in the first place.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman. Anthea Turner flaunted her hideous, homewrecking smug face in all the newspapers at the time. I hope that Della is hysterical with laughter to see the woman who destroyed her marriage getting her just desserts. A bit late but never mind. Karma sometimes takes a while to get it’s ar.se into gear.
Yep, couldn’t happen to a more deserving woman. Anthea has always had the kind of face you just want to slap without ever getting bored. And Grant really is such a catch......if you like the tailor’s dummy look. Neither of this couple has ever cared about any other human being. They have the biggest case of self-entitlement I’ve ever see. Today just got better! All I want now is for Team GB football team to win tonight’s match and my day will be complete!

According to the last article, Della isn't any better and just left her husband for another man too. It's hard to know who to root for, besides the kids, in this debacle when everyone in it is a dirty cheat.
