Secret documents reveal the truth behind JFK Jr.s tragic death!

John F. Kennedy Jr. went bravely to his watery grave, trying valiantly to save the lives of his passengers - his wife Carolyn and her sister Lauren.

But a government cover-up has stopped the truth of what really happened inside Kennedy's small plane before it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on July 16, 1999, from ever being made public.

A year after the tragedy, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) blamed the crash on a "graveyard spiral" that hurtled the plane toward the sea at nearly 5,000 feet per minute.

But The ENQUIRER has discovered a stunning report that claims the plane actually struck the water off Martha's Vineyard in a semi-inverted dive - the result of pilot commands.

According to the obscure report in the aviation industry publication Flying, Kennedy's plane "apparently struck the water in a semi-inverted dive, right wing first. This is an attitude that could not result from a graveyard spiral; it can only be the result of pilot commands."

Veteran pilot Michael J. Pangia - former chief litigator for the Federal Aviation Administration - told The ENQUIRER: "Kennedy fought this airplane all the way down to the water."

And an aviation source familiar with the crash report and the interior of John's Piper Saratoga aircraft now tells The ENQUIRER: "The fact is that John Kennedy was bravely battling to find a sliver of visibility out of heavy fog and find his way to safety. He went to his death trying to be a hero!"

Kennedy, a novice pilot who was not instrument rated, likely relied on the plane's autopilot to keep him on course. But investigators who probed the wreckage found the autopilot switch off.

The aviation source added: "It's another sign that John was determined to take charge of his
situation. He was in the dark, yet heroically trying to regain control of his aircraft."

Sadly, more evidence showing Kennedy to be a hero may never be found.

In our Feb. 20, 2001 issue, we exclusively reported that a "cover-up" of the crash was "dictated by Washington" and videotapes showing the plane at the bottom of the Atlantic, with John, Carolyn and her sister Lauren Bessette's bodies, were destroyed.

After making a request to the NTSB under the Freedom of Information Act, The ENQUIRER received some of the first photos of the wreckage. We later learned the recovery team had also taken underwater photos and videos, images that contain crucial evidence about the crash.

But the NTSB "declined" to include additional material gathered by the Navy in their final report, leaving some elements of the tragedy forever a mystery.

At the time of his death, John F. Kennedy Jr. had intended to divorce his wife Carolyn, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

A close Kennedy friend is divulging that long-kept secret as the tragic plane crash - which took the couple's lives as they flew to his cousin's wedding - marks its 10-year anniversary.

John intended to privately confide in his uncle Ted Kennedy regarding the divorce during the weekend celebration at the Hyannis Port family compound. John was on his way to the gathering when his plane went down.

"He could have called Ted on the phone, but John wanted to speak to him 'man to man,'" said the friend. "He had thrown in the towel on his marriage.

"John had already secretly seen a divorce lawyer, and he wanted Ted to know first - even before his sister Caroline. Uncle Ted had been like John's father after President Kennedy's assassination.

"A couple of days before his plane trip, John told me, 'I'm going to tell Uncle Ted what's really going on - he'll know what to do.'"

Another Kennedy family insider confirmed to The ENQUIRER that 38-year-old John was planning to divorce Carolyn - and get the nastiness out of the way before launching a political career.

"In the weeks before John's flight, he decided to divorce Carolyn, realizing she could sink his dream of having a political career," disclosed the insider.

"He went to marriage counseling and was willing to make it work, but Carolyn wasn't. John didn't hate Carolyn - he knew that she had become a different person."

John's nearly three-year marriage to the beautiful blonde had soured so badly that they were sleeping in separate bedrooms.

Sources say that James Auchincloss, Jacqueline's half brother, whose home was recently raided by cops for child pornography was fixated with JFK, Jr.

Reportedly, Uncle "Jamie" was keen on his half nephew John-John at age 7, repeatedly trying to get the lad to pose for pix. Jackie didn't want John anywhere near her half-sibling.

By the 1980s, Kennedy relatives were so aghast by Auchincloss' activities that they warned him to stay away, far away from the Camelot clan.

UPDATE: Jacqueline Kennedy's half brother arrested by cops for child pornography!

James Auchincloss, 62, whose mother Janet Bouvier was also Jackie's mom, had his Ashland, Oregon home turned upside down after local detectives were tipped off.

According to a police affidavit, the search revealed booklets and slides of naked 7- to 16-year-old boys in sexual poses-many of which were snapped at Auchincloss' home.

Computers and other recording devices were also seized and are being analyzed at the police lab.

The raid took place in October 2008 but only became public when the Ashland Daily Tidings newspaper obtained court documents.

Police say the matter remains "under investigation" as they believe Auchincloss committed "child sexual abuse felonies".

UPDATE: Auchincloss resigned yesterday from the board of a local theater group that boasts a highly regarded kids' theater program!

About this report, whatever. Nothing new. It was pilot error, we all know that. The way the damn plane crashed makes no difference. Their deaths were a shame though. JFK Jr. seemed like a good, solid guy and he was handsome as hell.
