Out of the Governor's Mansion and into the TV studio: impeached Illinois chief executive Rod Blagojevich – removed from office amid charges he tried to sell Barack Obama's vacated senate seat, among other infractions to which he's pleaded not guilty – has sealed a deal to star in the summer reality show I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here, NBC has confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter, "pending the court's approval," says the network.

Based on a British TV hit, the show pits various celebrities against one another in challenges to raise money for their favorite charities. The American air date is June 1.

An attorney for Blagojevich has reportedly requested that the travel restriction on the former governor, 52, be lifted so he can journey to Costa Rica, where the series will be filmed.

WTF!! I live in Illinois. This guy is the biggest buffoon ever, in complete denial. I have no idea how the hell he got elected for our governor. All this asshole ever does is go out jogging, shakedowns on tapped phone lines (real fucking genius), and generally act like an ass. He didn't even move to Springfield, our capitol city, to run our state.

Illinois is the joke of the nation. We really are. Blago has really brought it home for us. The ONLY good thing he did was give tax incentives for more movies to be shot in Illinois (versus Canada or something). We've had alot more filming in Illinois since he passed that bill, but that jackass never misses an opportunity to pat himself on the back about it, EVERY movie premier in Illinois, everytime a celeb is around, that jackass is there saying it's all because of him. And his wife is a fucking bitch too. Miserable cunt. Couse look what the hell she's married too. Oh, and that whole marriage was just a political ploy. Her daddy is a very powerful alderman in Chicago. The whole thing makes me sick...

AgentOrange, Illinois politics are very, well, almost incestuous. It all stems from the Chicago political machine that controls the state. They all take bribes....the city clerk of Chicago went to prison for accepting bribes (dummy got caught). He didn't take anyone down with him. We've had judges get paid off too. President Obama was part of the incestuous political machine, he was pals with Tony Rezko. Tony Rezko is another one that's hooked up to Blago, and Rezko went to jail also. It's somewhat bothersome, with Obama as president, he's bringing over all his pals from Chicago, (Rahm Emanuel the most recognized one), and it's kind of scary, knowing the corrupt Chicago political machine is now running the whole country.

Good! Not that I'll be watching the show in any case, but it just irked me. The man is a total disgrace, not a "celebrity." The only attention he deserves now is when they film him doing the perp walk.
