Nasty!
Lack of personal grooming is not "common" in any one group. I have two friends, one black and one white who both refuse to shave their legs, arms, and who knows what else. The white friend has begun to only bathe 2-3 times per week. The black friend bathes, but nails, hair, etc. are considered wastes of time. My black friend does not wear shorts or skirts or shirts which show her underarms, while my white friend, after us begging her not to, will.
It isn't a cultural issue. It's a downright gross issue.

Let's hope you don't have to stand next to her in the middle of summer.

I don't shave my legs or my underarms, because I don't have to. I have never grown hair, or produced hair bumps in those places, they are just as smooth as when I was a baby. However, I know a lot of black women who do not shave, out of fear of ingrown hair bumps, amongst other things. I know a lot of people who love women with hair on their legs, it doesn't mean that these women have bad personal hygiene it is just their personal choice.

She might have a negative reaction to shaving, as many women (and men for that matter) do. One culture's standards of beauty don't always "apply" to everyone, nor should they. And it's not like she's hairy like a woolly mammoth.

You're right.....one culture's standards don't always apply to everyone...
But as she's an American celeb, I assumed she was part of the American culture.......

Some people, esp. with naturally darker skin, can get 'spots' when they shave from where the hair grows out of the skin no matter what products or process used. Since the photo isn't that clear down by her legs, it looks like the blurry dark 'hair' down there might even be from shaving. When you get that, and are in the American culture, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Well, she could always nair it, or have it waxed. Hell, with her money she could have it permanently removed.
