it's not fungus. at least i don't think so. it looks like my friend's toenails after wearing polish for 6 months straight and almost never removing it. nails do need oxygen every once in a while.

Those are some foul looking toenails! It looks like fungus to me, but even if it is just stains from wearing dark nail polish on her toes, cover that crap up! don't show it off!

Noooo, that's fungus. I've worn toenail polish pretty consistently for years, barely a break, just a few weeks in the dead of winter. My nails are fine, just occasionally a little stained for a few days if I wear dark polish w/o basecoat. That is superficial and buffs off easily.
An ex of mine had major toenail fungus. He was not allowed to remove his socks around me. It is very, very gross and it looks EXACTLY like that, including the way the nail has actually split--that often happens when the infection has overwhelmed the nail. A normal traumatized nail might look bruised but bruising wouldn't produce that creepy yellow/chalky cream coloring. That's fungus.
It is also TREATABLE (and COMMUNICABLE) so wtf is her problem? She may be of a like mind with Brad Pitt--"I'm disgusting, but I'm rich and powerful, so let's watch people struggle to hide their revulsion and kiss my ass!"

Dancers often have gross feet. Calluses, crooked toes, spots where the skin is rubbed raw. She should stick to closed shoes.
