They get injections and surgeries to make themselves more youthful and that's criticized too. I mean, take your pick! What if all celebs stopped getting these surgeries and treatments, would that make everyone happy? I think not.
Another thing to remember is that some of these stars were in our favorite movies and TV shows how long ago? We can't expect them to look the same.
I've had a plastic surgeon tell me that thin (thin-skinned), nordic-type skins age the fastest generally speaking. Not only that but I'm in my 40s and when I was growing up we didn't have the great sunscreens we do now, and we were also told that tanning salons were safe.

Well i'm 40, very lean, very fair, never used sunscreen in my youth and don't have a single wrinkle. Unfortunately, heredity plays a part in youthfull appearance. I'm also in the biz. Theatre actors (Broadway) really don't have any age or physical restrictions placed on them. And unless you are marketed as a young and beautiful star, thin and youthful isn't really an issue. I would hazard a guess and say that the vast majority of working actors are neither thin, beautiful or young.

I think Richard Gere still looks great. I don't know if he's had any work done but if he has, it's not obvious-looking. I still find him sexy.
Christie Brinkley has also aged very well. Brooke Shields still looks good to me but a bit manly. What once looked chiseled and model-like can age to slightly manly because as you age you lose fat in your face. I think it would help if she lightened her hair a bit. I noticed on the second season of Lipstick Jungle (in the one episode I saw before they canceled it) her hair was a little lighter and it really softened her appearance. Maybe cut it too.

Plastic Surgary is an external manifestation of their inner conflict....
It acually shows Exactly who they are, On The Inside

Richard Gere's son goes to the same school as my daughter. May I just say he's even better looking in person. Great hair. Also, a regular nice guy who drives his kid to school in a volvo with a free tibet bumper sticker. None of that Hollywood act.
