Now I find myself looking all over the net for "postmortem" photos...

I remember a website with postmortem photographs of children that I saw years ago, but I forgot all about it.

I find it fascinating in a macabre way too. I might have trouble sleeping tonight, but I knew this would be interesting so I had to click. So yeah, thank you!

At an exhibition some months ago I saw the most frightening picture of a deceased man wearing a hat. I can't remember the photographer but the photo scared the crap out of me, it still haunts me.

Also, why do dead people look like they are made of wax? My grandfather looked like some unreal doll in his coffin.

I can't look at them. I was fascinated by them when I was younger, but now it brings me to a bad place to look at them

I am sorry to say that, it sounds disrespectful of the dead boy... but it is scary.

Even though these photos are a century or more old, I couldn't help but tear up. They're heart-wrenching.

I don't think I can handle to look at any of them. Especially not ones where they still have their eyes open I've only seen one dead person in my life so far, and it was so disturbing and heartbreaking at the same time.

I can't look either. I'm simply afraid of death and dead bodies.
