Holy crap! Living proof that a wild lifestyle (sex, drugs, booze,
nicotine, suntanning, lots of wild parties etc.etc.) are a killer
to one's looks! She looks older than Grace when she died!

She almost looks as wrinkled as Bardot! She looks like a walking cigarette butt...how awful.
I used to think she was so good looking.
Damn, she's only 42 as well.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.
Wow, the years, and sun, have not been kind.
This was her mother Princess Grace in 1971 at 42:

I just turned 53 yesterday (hint, hint, happy birthday messages welcome!) and I promise you, I do not look anywhere near as withered and/or as decrepit as Princess Stephanie does.
I smoke and drink, too, but I only drink beer on the weekends and I avoid the sun like the plague. I wear 30 SPF every day when I go out, winter, rain, sun...it doesn't matter.
Back to my brewskis...maybe after I drink another couple I can forget about that wretched photo, LOL!![]()
^I think she looked pretty good for 42!
One of the most gorgeous women ever.
You have to look beyond the fashion of those days,
and don't forget that back then, in her position,
dresscode and hairstyles were very formal.

None of them aged well. None. Grace Kelly was wrinkly and had bad skin for her age and she DID look older than her 52 yrs at the time of her death. Hell, she looked weather-beaten since her early 40's. She was frumpy and she had the laugh lines and crows feet at a very young age. That was passed down to her kids, the premature aging. They must've inherited that from her. Plus, the smoking on their part didn't help. But even in their early 20's, Caroline, Stephanie and Albert all had laugh lines...it wasn't even them being old, that's just what they inherited, bad skin.
The royal Kids of Monaco have money and wealth and seemed to really love their parents but they did not inherit good DNA from their mother that's for sure (in regards to aging and good skin that is). Whatever, it doesn't even really matter. In the end we're all flesh and bones anyway. It's the memories and love they felt for each other that matters, not comparing their wrinkles.
On a side note, I went to Monaco this year and the Monegasques ADORE the Royal Family. Pictures of them all over the place...it's a beautiful place and Stephanie, Albert and Caroline should be very proud to be loved so much. Their parents left them a great country and a wonderful legacy. I was very impressed.
I think the princesses' premature aging can most be attributed to their love of the sun and a pack of Marlboros.

The beaches in Monaco are too die for---effing FABULOUS. If she spent lots of time in the sun, I wouldn't be surprised. At least she has an excuse. But you'd be suprised, in Europe they're not hung up about wrinkles or smoking or sun. It's so common there---I think they see pictures of their prince and princesses and see them as 'flawless' (surprisingly so!)....lol
Oh,come on,i smoke 2 packs a day for 40 years,i suntan every summer all my life ,i am 60 and i look nothing like that, even on my worst day.
Its genetics mostly..either you have it or you dont.
I think Caroline is the blessed one,i like all of them though.
I agree with you Effie 100%...it IS genetics. They all aged fast.
In Princess Grace's case, she got married, had kids and basically quit working and became a homemaker. Some women are like that. They never really recover from pregnancy and having children ages them. Stephanie's smoking (and probably sunbathing) didn't help her skin. Caroline, after her first husband's death, she never really got her looks back either. Albert, he's looked older than his age for years now. They just don't come from young looking people. They come from people who age fast--that's in their DNA. Like you said, you either have it or don't and they don't. Not their mother, not them and maybe the next generation will age fast too. I always see pictures of Prince Rainier's grandkids out there smoking and sunbathing all the time too (Caroline's kids).
