Mike Jeffries
I'm surprised that this wasn't posted already.

Jeffries' endorsement of my look was a step up from the previous day, when I made the mistake of dressing my age (30). I arrived in a dress shirt, khakis and dress shoes, prompting A&F spokesman Tom Lennox -- at 39, he's a virtual senior citizen among Jeffries' youthful workforce -- to look concerned and offer me a pair of flip-flops. Just about everyone at A&F headquarters wears flip-flops, torn Abercrombie jeans, and either a polo shirt or a sweater from Abercrombie or Hollister, Jeffries' brand aimed at high school students.

His biggest obsession, though, is realizing his singular vision of idealized all-American youth. He wants desperately to look like his target customer (the casually flawless college kid), and in that pursuit he has aggressively transformed himself from a classically handsome man into a cartoonish physical specimen: dyed hair, perfectly white teeth, golden tan, bulging biceps, wrinkle-free face, and big, Angelina Jolie lips.

Re: Mike Jeffries
Although he doesn't look all that great, I would have never guessed him to be 61 years old. I thought he was a 45 year old man.

Re: Mike Jeffries
what a disgusting creep, sorry I have understanding for transgendered people, and even understanding for that man that wants to be a cat, because they feel they are in the wrong body. But this guy is just a sick weirdo trying to be young and looking like a freakish caricature. I think he wants to look young so he can pick up young guys cos hes a pedo!
weren't a&f in trouble a few years back for kiddie porn-esque photoshoots in their catalogs? Probably this guys dream actualized!
I have no problem with people acting young, yknow being young at heart, but how can anyone even look this guy in the face and not laugh?

Sojiita, I can one-up you. I worked at their HQ as a web programming contractor. They encourage their employess to "live the brand"... their (all male) receptionists look like they stepped out of the A&F catalog - overly tanned, overly coiffed and carefully styled in their "I'm trying so hard to appear casual and laidback" type of way. It's expected that all employees dress in Abercrombie or Hollister clothing, which means that nobody is above a size 10. At any given point, their courtyard is full of guys tossing a football, or girls in short skirts goofing around on scooters. I never did figure out if they were paid to do just that, or what their actual jobs were.
My department had the music up so loud (just like in the stores) that I could barely concentrate, let alone write code. I quit after a month. It was a soul-sucking experience.

You were in HELL! I hate A&F. Soul-sucking pretty much sums up New Albany IMO. Another reason to hate that place: Les(I am a closet queer)Wexner. He is well known as gay...he loved to buy guys drinks in gay bars in Columbus in the early/mid eighties(seen it myself with my own eyes).

No, our public schools don't have Abercrombie uniforms. They have normal uniforms - polo shirts and khakis for the most part. Kids (or their parents) can get the uniform pieces wherever they want - Old Navy and A&F (and JC Penney and Target for that matter) happen to sell shirts and pants that are acceptable for the uniforms. That's a funny rumor though, and one I'm sure Abercrombie would love to have spread.
