yeah they were! i heard its from a joke that MM would look good in anything including a potatoe sack so they took these shots as a joke, thats what i've heard, MM lore

I was just looking at that. The first picture looks odd, like her head is in a strange position, but now seeing the others it looks like a real photoshoot.

If you see a full length shot of her in this, it's insane how awesome she looked in that dress. Just flawless. I think this was around April/May 1962 - the very last months of her life.

By then, both. That was just a very few months before she died, and she was popping the sleeping pills and washing them down with champagne pretty regularly. She apparently ODed a few times that way in early '62, but was found in time and revived.
