You know when I can tell a woman is really pretty? When they have nice profiles. Some people look attractive in pictures, some when you look directly at them, but when you notice a woman is pretty and that she also has a nice profile, that, to me is symmetry... and CZJ has it.
Now, there's a male's version of 'beauty' and then there's a woman's version of 'beauty'...and usually, they're not in agreement. But every now and then you see faces like THIS and there's no denying that DNA made a masterpiece. Like her or hate her, Catherine Zeta-Jones is gorgeous. A classic beauty. No one in their right mind could ever say this woman wasn't beautiful.
"She is not only beautiful but also very deep and we understand each other extremely well. I love her above all. Catherine is the woman of my life. A dream."
-Michael Douglas

^I guess because she married a rich older man. That, to a lot of people equates to being a 'gold-digger'. In my book that's being smart. Love whomever you want, but, personally, I rather love a man who comes from a successful family and a man who's financially stable. At least you're giving your children a future and some stability. Why marry a man your age who's a loser, comes from a shitty family and has nothing going for himself? That would be stupid. And true, wealth and fame don't guarantee happiness, but if you have some money, there's no denying it makes life easier. I think we'd all want our sisters, our daughters, (any woman in our family that we cared for) to marry a man who had something to offer them.
I think CZJ married well and married a man she loved. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't think she's a bitch (or evil) for that.

I've heard from extras and other people on-set with her that she's a sweetheart. I love her. She's absolutely the most beautiful woman living. She's super-talented, and her "bitchiness" and grandness just makes me adore her more.

People certainly disliked her for marrying well. There's more. It's the way she went about it. She and Douglas sat down and hammered out a 'sensible agreement'. There wasn't any pretense to 'romance'. People hated her for undermining the illusion. It's not why people pay to see movies. If she left Douglas, and had a few wild, reckless romances, everything would be forgiven. People want the passion and the 'soap opera'. Just like Charles and Diana, they want some to act out their fairy tales, to prove that it could be true. What a tragedy that can turn into, though. People hate her for her 'clear headedness' and realism.
Incidentally she's not a 'flawless beauty'. She inherited the 'irish nose' from her mother. It's a little too round, snubbed, and baby faced. For my money, Milla Jovovich has the perfect female face.

What's an 'Irish nose'? If I would say he or she had a 'black nose' that would be a little stereotypical also. There are all types of noses in all cultures...round, wide, thin, short, etc...that doesn't even make sense.
Now, as far as THEIR romance, how does anyone know how romantic Michael Douglas is? Unless you get personally involved with a man, I don't think any of us know HOW romantic or unromantic a man can be. That's absurd. From everything Catherine's said in interviews, she recounts the same story...that she and Michael met ONE time in France at some Film Festival and he was instantly smitten. After that, they had a long distance relationship for months. Catherine said they basically got to know each other through phone and e-mail because she was filming 2 movies back to back. Michael was in the United States and she was at some far-away film location....some remote island in the middle of the ocean somewere. From her account, Michael pursued her even from across the miles which surprised her. He'd send her flowers and courted her...in her opinion, an even bigger feat because the island didn't exactly have a florist there. She said it wasn't until her work committments were completed (months later) that they were actually able to be together in person. So, there was romance. The public just wasn't invited to it. Just because we didn't know, doesn't mean it didn't happen. It means they chose to keep it private.
Now, nothing against you at all, but in my opinion, if people (in general) want 'passion and romance', they should make it themselves in their own lives, not live through celebrities and expect them to do it for them! That's crazy...and an even crazier notion to hate people for it.

A lot of people criticize her for marrying Michael D because he's established, has connections, rich, the list goes on. Yet hardly anyone criticizes him for marrying a much younger, beautiful woman. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though; the double standard's been around for eons.

Irish Nose
I didn't mean to come off as some sort of Kramer . It's just a term for a small upturned nose. Most people find it attractive, and plastic surgeons get requests for it, mostly from Jews (sorry, I didn't mean to come off as some sort of Mel Gibson ). There is also the Roman nose, Mussolini had one, and the Greek nose that's famous in sculpture. In the Greek nose the bridge joins with the fore head to form an almost straight line, as in the case of Athena Goodbust here:
Then there is JLo nose, and I'll let the pics speak for themselves.
As for their marriage, Calista Flockhart did the same thing with Harrison Ford. Mila Kunis, from "That 70's Show" sunk her hooks into Macaulay Kulkin. There are any number of actresses who've hooked up with richer, more influential men, yet Zeta seems to be the one drawing the flack for it.
PS. Please don't misinterpert some of my comments. I'm not being racist, only trying to make the point, through humour and overstatement, that "Kramer Hysteria" has gona a little far. When we say "Chinese eyes" we know what's meant, and no one's being racist. It's just a discriptive term.

She is the epitome of gorgeous. I love that she doesn't have blue/green eyes or blonde/red hair, but is still amazing to look at. She's got beautiful bone structure & the structure of all her features are beautiful.

She's the most beautiful actress around these days IMO. Just stunning and very feminine.

i do not think the above photo of her in the silver dress is an example of classic beauty. it is more an example of being over photoshopped. she does have a certain store bought charm and what hollywood passes off as class but i think she is losing her looks. especially for being 37 years old. she was gorgeous in the first zorro but it's all smoke and mirrors now.
for me it's the age thing. she's lying. i also think that's why she had kids so fast. she was drying up.
apparently michael douglas was amazed they also share a birthday and told her he was going to marry her the first day they met. then she set her trap. she's fascinating in a jackie collins kind of way but i see her boozed up, bloated and slurry in the next few years.

Actually she'll get the best plastic surgery that money can buy. Eventually her face will get so stretched sideways that she will begin to resemble Alfred Newman, from MAD magazine.
