Iman and Liya are east African not mixed. There are different facial features (and straighter hair) in the Somalia/Ethiopia/Eritria area than in other parts of Africa. Africa has huge diversity.

Tyra Banks is not mixed race.

Alek Wek is from Sudan, Iman is from Somalia. Most African models are from the northern part of East Africa, where people tend to be tall and skinny, but also comparatively light-skinned.

I like Alek, because her skin is pretty dark. She really stands out on the international runways. We need more models like her.

Of course she is. There are hardly any all-black people in the US or the Caribbean. Most African Americans have West African or Central African roots. People like that Bakongo or Wolof are much, much darker than most African Americans today. Tyra could have Igbo roots, but her ancestry certainly isn't whole.
