I remember when I was a kid, Lynda Carter was the total IT girl. Everyone wanted to be 'Wonder Woman' and everyone thought she was beautiful. All my uncles at the time were totally ga-ga over her. Her father, Colby Carter, was American, and her mother, Juana Córdoba, was Mexican. Lynda was born in Arizona on July 24, 1951 where she went to Arcadia High School in Phoenix, then to Arizona State University. She entered a local beauty contest and achieved her first national fame by winning Miss World USA in 1972 representing Arizona. She eventually represented the United States in the Miss World pageant, where she reached the semi-finals. Her true claim to fame though was playing 'Wonder Woman' in the t.v. series that aired from 1977 to 1979.

"Mexican food is my weakness. Thank God I live in Washington where it's horrible. They put in some tomatoes and bell peppers and call it salsa!"--Lynda Carter

"Some of the best memories of my childhood were of being with my grandmother when she was making tortillas, having to cut the tripe when she made menudo, or sorting the sticks and stones out of the beans on her table."

Yes, I wanted to be Wonder Woman too, even though I was only about six years old when that show was popular. She had an awesome body as well as a gorgeous face. I think she still looks pretty good.

I've seen some recent shots of her, and the Lady's still got it!

I'm the lone dissenter. I don't get her appeal, and I've always thought her face looked off.

So did I, but my parents took me to see a specialist!

She's apparently super nice too. I had a pre-homo crush on her.

I think she's a universal beauty, the kind that just goes beyond opinion: she's just gorgeous and period.

She's even more stunning in person. Just an absolute knockout and so gracious.

I think she's still gorgeous. She & Jaclyn Smith have the same sort of thing going on.
I didn't know her mother was Mexican, live & learn.
