Gorgeous woman. She contracted TB and died way too young.

Yeow, that's 80 cigarettes a day. If she slept 8 hours, that's smoking a cigarette every 12 minutes or so. That couldn't have helped the TB.

Miz Scarlett, such a beautiful, yet sad woman. I loved Vivien Leigh.

An older Vivien Leigh (6 years before her death at 54) in the Warren Beatty thread> Warren Beatty [Actor]

It's rumored that Leigh and Beatty had an affair during the making of that movie. Don't know if it was true or not.
If you think she was beautiful in Gone With the Wind, have you seen her in Waterloo Bridge? Incredibly gorgeous and tragic at the same time! I think she deserved an Oscar for that movie, as well. On the stage she could hold her own with Olivier and was just as talented.

No, they didn't have an "affair", but - mostly due to her fragile mental state at that time - Beatty (and the director) spent a lot of time off set with Vivien, kinda to help her through stuff. They had a movie to make and finish, and she was the lead role. They couldn't afford to have their star have a total mental breakdown in the middle of the shoot. Vivien was very open about her attraction to Beatty, even if he was half her age, but most of it was just a reaction to Laurence Olivier having found new love in the much younger Joan Plowright (sp).
