The (I'm sure) long awaited and much anticipated vanity thread.

"Denise Katrina Matthews (born January 4, 1959), better known as Vanity and sometimes credited as Denise Matthews-Smith and D.D. Winters, is a Canadian-born former singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and model. Vanity's career lasted from the 1980s until the early mid-90s. She was the lead singer of the female trio Vanity 6 assembled by prince, which recorded the 1982 R&B hit "Nasty Girl" "

She is quite lovely. I remember watching something on her and the poor dear was having problems with her kidneys. I guess it was from her drug usage. She turned her life around and is doing well except for the kidneys.

^ Yes she had quite a serious drug probelm, it totally wrecked her liver and kidneys. She was very close to death at one point. A few years ago she was having to do daily dialysis sessions, I don't know what it is now.

She had a quite rough childhood- her father was very abusive (he died when she was about 14 I think) and her mother was a depressive alcoholic, according to sources

So it is 5:30 a.m. and I am so tired I read the thread as "Dave Matthews aka Vanity" and I about shit myself. I thought Dave Matthews had a career change.

I always loved Vanity 6's hooker look even when I was little. She was engaged to Nikki Six. She seemed like a nice person in an interview from Arsenio Hall. I don't like he religious interviews with her. She seems obsessed, or brain washed. Have you seen her now?
