She's great and she can actually act. I've seen her in that Bond movie
and even though Bond movies are pretty much stillborn efforts, she's
still great in it, and it's not even in her first language.

She's gorgeous! I love her voice, too.

She can look good but no French critic would ever pretend that she can act

Yeah, so?
Actually, similar complaints have been lodged against both Deneuve and
Bardot in their day, and both gave good performances in spite of their
reputations as untalented beauties.

So she can't actually act, or not in any remarquable way, same thing for Bardot who just had to stand in the frame and reflect the light properly, and Deneuve improved with time...it doesn't mean that they shouldn't be in movies but you can't rely on them to create complex or challenging characters, unless the realistator and the script can cut a story in a way that only requires glimpses of the beauties...but then Lassie could act too

I own "Marquise" where she played a French dancer in King XIV's court. She was quite good. There is a funny scene where she rushed to get on stage, forgetting her pantaloon's. She was dancing for the king who had a seat on the stage...and she ends the dance with a cartwheel.
This pleased the king very much.

She wasn't in Queen Margot, that's Adjani - who can act when she doesn't take herself too seriously-
