Selena, the Tejano singer, had already won a Grammy and was only 23 yrs-old when her life was tragically cut short in 1995. She was an awesome singer. Here are some pictures.

That's right. Her name was Yolanda. Selena went to go meet her to get some tax receipts or something before they fired her for embezzeling money, and after lying to Selena about being raped and having her drive her to the hospital and then back to the hotel, she pulled a gun and shot Selena as she was walking out the door.

Haha! Yeah it's true, Selena had big lips. She came on the scene way before Angelina Jolie's lips were considered 'hot' and Selena was the original 'booty girl'. Her butt was bigger than Jennifer Lopez's by a longshot. That girl had a body. She had a tiny waist, thick legs and definitely had a curvaceous figure. She had a lot more talent than some of the Beyonce's, J.Lo's and Britney's of today. And remember, it was only after Jennifer Lopez portrayed her in the movie, that J.Lo hit superstardom.

Selena's smile and laugh always reminded me a lot of Julia Roberts'--it was so classic and happy. It's a shame she died just as she was crossing over into the English market. Her death was so senseless. She would've been a HUGE star by now.

I love her songs and the movie was good....and sad. PrettyGirl your right that she would have been huge if that stupid hag hadn't shot her and she was also really beautiful. one of my friends' personality reminds me of her.

Well, you have to figure, Selena never go to make it big-time...she didn't get the best make-up artists, hairstylists, etc...she probably did her own makeup just as J.Lo did when she first started. Then they get famous and go 'Hollywood'...fake tans, hair extentions, false eyelashes, hightlights, etc...you look at pictures of Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera before fame really struck and they all looked different.

I honestly had no earthly clue who she was until the movie...but she was a pretty girl, and certainly didn't deserve to be gunned down over some petty shit. NO ONE DOES. Damn shame.

At the time of her death she had just finished filming a little cameo role in a movie with Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando. It was a tiny scene but supposedly Marlon really liked her and flirted with her on the set. Dirty old man...j/k
