I think the industry is so racist. Why is it that they pick all these 'white' and anglo looking Brazilian models of European ancestry to be the hottest models out there right now but the Brazilian models who are BLACK or dark-skinned get thrown aside? They choose Brazilians like Giselle Bunchden to be the 'face' of Victoria's Secret or other models like Adriana Lima or Alessandra Ambrosio to be the 'IT' girls of the fashion industry! These chicks are fricken light-skinned with colored eyes!! Yeah, it must be nice to be 5'10" and above, light-complected, have colored eyes and lots of highlights in your hair because it sure makes you 'worth' a lot more money. It's so much bullshit. What's it telling the young, brown haired, brown-skinned, dark-eyed girls out there who are 5'7" and shorter? That 'beauty' is clearly what they're NOT. That is so wrong.

BTW- I agree with you. There are many different colored people that buy these products and I feel that there should be diffent cultures/colors that should be represented in the modelling world. There is nothing wrong with fair complected people, but I am sick of seeing the "token" african-american, or asian on the runway.
