???
Does anyone know what Warren's Heritage is? I know he is American, but everyone in America came from some place else. Maybe his parents or grandparents? I would like to know.
Thanks

SVZ guessed right away he's of Irish descent (ears, jaw, nose and what not). Turns out he was right.

Never fancied Warren, myself. Always just a bit too pretty for a guy, and way more than a bit too much in love with himself. Both a big turn-off.

I think you're wrong on both counts. I personally find prime Paul Newman and prime Elvis Presley much prettier than Beatty was, their faces. But for various reasons I prefer Beatty to them.
Your second remark is more an assumption, largely based on what the media (especially the tabloids) created as an image of him, mostly as a counter action on him not being the most co-operative person throughout his career. The best example is that, around the time that it played, Beatty was described in the tabloids as the villain who was responsible for breaking up Natalie Wood's first marriage to Robert Wagner, by seducing her during the making of "Splendor In The Grass". Fact was, however, that he and Natalie didn't even start dating until AFTER her marriage to Wagner had ended. Perhaps the press was confused because there was about a year between the shooting and the release of "Splendor", during which time Beatty was abroad making a movie with Vivien Leigh. So, he wasn't even in the country while he was supposedly breaking up a marriage!
He's vain, but I'm willing to bet he's no more so than most actors. Several books have also stated that, especially in their younger years, Beatty and George Hamilton were often confused with each other and that Hamilton takes the cake as far as being in love with oneself and vanity are concerned......

I was going to say yesterday that Hollywood is full of types like this^^.
Warren seems to be less so except possibly during his conquest days when his escapades were legendary. But I've always admired hm for his intellect and inclination to produce good films about sociopolitical issues. Can't say that about very many people in Hollywood.

Those are great pics of Jack and Warren. Damn, I'd love to sit around and have a drink and conversation with that pair. I imagine it would be interesting as hell.

There's one thing that always bothers/bothered me when media (especially in
the past) talked about Beatty's supposed character. Yeah, he was a
womanizer, but not a cheater or a person who broke up marriages. In fact,
he's one of the most loyal people in Hollywood and his friendships (even to
most of his ex-lovers) prove it.
He and Jack go way back. They even served as each other's date, whenever
they just happened to be without female companions in the eighties
They have about as many things in common, as they have not: Jack the
smoker and drinker, Warren the (almost) tee-totaller. But: they've even
shared (well, followed each other up) girlfriends (Michelle Philips and Diane
Keaton being the best known ones).
And as they enter the autumn of their lives, they're still great friends, now
close to their fourth decade as pals.
Warren's also great friends with Dustin Hoffman. They've known each other
since the sixties, from a distance. But working on Ishtar in 1987 made them
friends for life!
Once you become a friend of Beatty's, you either have to be the one to
break off the friendship, or you have to do something really bad for him to
call it quits on you. Otherwise: you're stuck with him for the rest of your
life!

I really admire this aspect of him. Loyalty and commitment. I'd like friends like that in my own life. Each topic here on Warren Beatty, I find myself more intrigued about him.
