Somehow I understand that. I think Bob photographs quite badly and I personally find him more attractive when I see him working. So perhaps you should rent and watch "Barefoot In The Park", "The Way We Were", "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid", "The Three Days Of The Condor", "All The President's Men", "The Candidate" which are my fave prime Redford movies!

My personal all-time fave of Redford:
And yes, Brad Pitt can look a lot like him:

The year of release> 1973. The movie's title "The Sting".
Originally Warren Beatty again (like before with Butch & Sundance)
was approached to play the Hooker/Kelly part.
Again, Warren declined citing that the movie would be too close to his
1967 blockbuster, the legendary and revolutionary "Bonnie&Clyde" in
material and period.
Both movies play roughly around the same time.
Both movies have a very strong role for the music> the bluegrass in
"Bonnie" and the "ragtime" of "The Sting".
So, again Redford was approached and again, he accepted. He was the
first cast of the duo. Director George Roy Hill asked Paul Newman
if he could rent his appartment, like he'd done before, to be close to the
location set. Newman inquired what movie he was working on, to which
Hill replied that it was another Redford vehicle. Newman asked to read
the script, Hill asked if he would be interested to play the other part, even
if it was the second banana part. After initial hesitance, Newman agreed,
but only because Hill told him he'd be an ***** if he wouldn't take it.
And so the actors who'd become friends during Butch & Sundance, were
teamed up again for yet another legendary movie!

Then a time-warp in the bonus material on the DVD. Filmed in 2005 a post
botched PS, hardly recognizable, Robert Redford looks about a decade
older than the ever charming, very lively and funny Paul Newman.
Whether he was born in 1937, which I always thought, or 1936, Redford
looks horrible for a 69 or 70 year old. His skin is like no one else's and the
botched PS was just that> badly done and done way too late.
So, we'll just enjoy them good old days in these "on location" stills.
PS> HAD to put some shots in of Newman's incredibly, gorgeous blue eyes!

I think Bob's eyes have calmed down since the lift. I remember when R. Chamberlain had his face lift. Ooh, not good. Then about 6 months later he was being interviewed and he looked wonderful.
No brush with greatness here. In the early 80's I was meeting my friend at a store. As I'm coming up the street she said YOU just missed Redford. She said he was very slender. Missed him by two minutes. I wouldn't have been able to it anyway. Sure, I miss RR, but around the same time I see Tom Cruise make out with Cher. Just my luck.

Well, I sure hope for Bob's sake that it straightened itself out a bit. I think he
still looks like a bad PS victim, even years after he had it done, which is (for
the first? time) around 2000. Granted, he aged like crap and looked extremely
worn and tired when he finally DID have it done, but I think the texture of his skin makes it very difficult to have a successful, let alone "seamless" surgery that heals well and quickly.
I was really shocked when I clicked on the bonus material. his eyes aren't the
same size or shape and the rest of his face looks like it's melting off the skull!
Seriously, it looks like a make-up effect from Dick Tracy!!!
Aawww, you missed Bob by a hair! He is one of those stars, though, whose
studio manufactured bio was old fashioned favorable to his vital statistics.
Apparently, for whatever obscure reason, they altered his birth year by 1
(1936 by 1937, which is pretty pointless if you ask me, but perhaps done
because Hoffman, Beatty and Nicholson were all from 1937?), and in the
beginning they had his official height at 6'0", while in reality in his prime
he barely scraped 5'10" and is down to 5'9" now.
An interesting bit of news I wasn't aware of> Tony Bill, the guy who played
Johnny Pope, the commercial director Goldie Hawn's character ends up with in "Shampoo", was one of the producers of "The Sting"!!!!
