^ yeah thats sorta true and funny about the sister Rain and him; definetely I think River was more classically attractive almost too pretty to be a man...so sad.

I find him more attractive than Joaquin, too. He was also a good actor. Wish he could have stayed away from the drugs. ...weeps, plays violin.

He was one of my first celeb crushes, coutesy of Stand by Me, which was a great all around film. He was soooooo yummy and although both Pheonix men are/were talented, they look nothing alike. They don't even look related.
Anyway, River was gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

he was one of my first crushes too from Stand By Me also!! He was soooo adorable and chubby in that movie w/ his cute crew cut and tight jeans and dirty white t-shirt. Its funny how much he changed from that to what he became as a man and yes I agree that he would have had an Oscar by now
I think its time for a movie about his life to be made.....

i wonder what he would be doing now if he were alive?
imo, he would have been perfect for the role of skywalker.

Alice did you catch that TV show a few weeks back? I don't remember the name but they trace and dramatize like the last 24 hrs of the person's life before they died. The show is on Sundays, on one of the big networks. The last one I saw was JFK jr. and the one before that was River Phoenix.

geat pics, thanks. I've often thought of him as maybe James Dean reincarnated, with same tragic ending all over again.

oh no I missed it Mooms; but I know what you're talking about. I'll have to look for it again. he did always remind me of James Dean; both extremely handsome when they weren't even trying to be and both amazing on screen.

Good god, he's so attractive. I can't believe I missed this thread. Thanks for reviving!
I must have watched the movie Sneakers sooooooooo many times because I thought his character was adorable! Same with A Thing Called Love and My Own Private Idaho.
