The home of Aussie Rules footy is Melbourne. We have several teams within the city as a whole, some of which are literally next door to each other. People here are fiercely loyal to their 'local' team. Try to imagine New York city boroughs having their own baseball teams?
Footscray (now known as the Western Bulldogs) is a western suburbs team in Melbourne and Essendon is to the north, near the airport.
I'm not especially sporty but I love Aussie Rules. It's a really exciting, fast game and easy to follow and the players are HOT, even the wankers. As for Ben Cousins, he's back in rehab (again) but from what I've observed he still won't admit he's a druggie and he has a family (and team managers) of enablers who don't seem to realise how serious his problem is either.

I... don't really see what's so hot about him. Yeah he's fit but he has one of those fit bodies I think are ugly. Too hard to explain. Just eh. And his face is stupidly unnatractive.

How much do you want to bet he'll be playing again this year? Maybe not with the Eagles but rumours around town are that he's going to Adelaide. We should ask Soth - he has the 'inside track' on AFL.

ITA. Hot bod, but shame about the personality.
My brush with Ben Cousins was to inadvertantly insult him while watching a West Coast v Hawthorn game at York Park in Launceston. It's quite a small ground, and if the player is up against the fence, having just chased the ball out of play, and you're in the front row, they can *probably* hear what you say.
Which in my case was "Is that Ben Cousins? Geez... he's short!"
Got quite a snotty look in return
