Gerard Butler [Actor]

Short Bio:

Gerard was born in born November 13, 1969 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. His full name is Gerard James Butler but most of people call him Gerry, as a nickname. He's parents are Margaret and Edward Butler and he has a older brother and sister named Brian and Lynn. He spent the first few years of his life in Montreal, Canada before returning to Paisley, Scotland after his parents separation. He grew up with his mother, who remarried a few years later. He had no contact with his father until age 16, after which time they became close.

Gerard studied law at Glasgow University, in order to become a lawyer/solicitor. In those years, he served as President of the school's Law Society, and worked as a trainee solicitor after graduation.

His acting career began when he was approached in a London coffee shop by actor Steven Berkoff, who gave him a role in the play "Coriolanus", which lead him to quit law school for acting. His first movie role was in Mrs. Brown, (1997) where he acted as Billy Connolly's younger brother. During filming that movie, he and his mother used to go to picnic near the River Tay. In one of those time he saved a young boy from drowning in the river Tay and recieved a "Certificate Of Bravery" from The Royal Humane Society. In the movie The Phantom of the Opera where he acted as The Phantom, he actually does sings in the film version of Phantom of the Opera!

He has a reputation as one of the nicest actors around, as he always takes time to socialize with fans and hangs out with crew members as much as co-stars on film sets. Was chosen as the most attractive man of 2005 by Hello! Magazine.

His body was awesome in 300. I saw it last night. He got totally beefed up for that role. He has a great, deep manly voice too.

Hawt. I saw 300 over the weekend and it was worth the price of admission just to see him in all his hot glory. Oh, and the actual movie was good, too.

I'm so happy I don't have to watch Dracula 2000 or the sequel to Tomb Raider to get my Gerard Butler fix anymore. 300 is a great movie and he such a cutie in it
