I can't believe he used to be 50 pounds heavier and a stand-up comedian...all I have to say is thank goodness he turned himself around.

Yeah I remember someone talking about it when Troy came out. But I'm sorry, my timeline was off. Here is the real deal from IMDB:
He began his career as a comedian, while working as a barman at Melbourne's Castle hotel in 1991...Admitted to eating junk food for four weeks to put on the extra weight needed to play Chopper (2000)...Gained almost 50 pounds for his role as the rotund, psychotic title character in "Chopper."

I had an instructor in college who looked just like him. Although at that time, I didn't know who Eric Bana was, I just had a HUGE crush on my instructor. Then The Hulk comes out, and I'm like, "IT's him!"
