    Default Rutger Hauer [Actor]

I usually don't go for blonds. He is one of (very) few exceptions.
The (strawberry) blond prime Robert Redford being another one.

Anyway, he's not classically beautiful, or even stunningly handsome
(like my all time fave Warren Beatty). But he has the "it" factor. Can't
put my finger on it, he just draws you in. Now, a decrepit, slightly
overweight, guy. But once an impressive, attractive young half god.
    Rutger Hauer.

He scared the hell out of me in the Hitcher, but he was hot in Blade Runner.

This is who Anne Rice initially had in mind would have played Lestat when she wrote Interview With A Vampire. But by the time there was actually a movie made, he was too old.

    Glad you bring him up.

I love to watch him in the film "Ladyhawke". There he is this strong, brave, manly man and a hero. He is so breathtakingly beautiful there in his movements and riding a horse. He was perfect for this role. And those kind of roles suited him best.
True, he may not be a beauty on the outside - but he radiates an inner integrity and has lots of charisma. I have never been interested in this smooth sunnyboy beauty on the outside - its the rough edges and a certain kind of movements I like.

And he has the most beautiful blue eyes ever.

I always imagined him to be my imaginary father in another world - strong and always there, giving a helping hand.

I've had a huge crush on young Rutger Hauer since forever. I've seen an alarmingly large number of his films. Even the really crap ones.

Loved him in Ladyhawke but I still think he was at his best in Blade Runner. I love Roy Batty. He never fails to make me cry at the end.

When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.

For those who loved him in Ladyhawke, he is also in a medieval setting in Paul Verhoeven's Flesh & Blood. A very different movie, though.

I never heard that. He would have been perfect. Tom Cruise was horribly miscast.

He's such a great actor. He even brings it when the movie is crap. I recently saw a trailer for a movie he was in, Hobo with a Shotgun, and he looked to be the best thing about that film, lol.
