He is just a typical big name whose ego has gotten the best of him. Why is it that all big stars think they can preach their political agenda, religious mores, drug issues etc? He's not bad looking and despite what someone else stated in this thread he has aged fairly well. That said his days are numbered and Paramount may have done the right thing disenfranchising themselves from any future Cruise projects. MI3 did not make as much as what would be expected from other Cruise vehicles. He needs his come upance.

Wonder how long he'll keep Ms. Holmes-Cruise? I suspect just long enough to keep the "gay" rumors away. I still think he is gay and his marriages have just been for show. Suri is probably nothing more than a piece of show to keep the "gaysters" off and I am sure Katie married him for the money and fame.

i agree. i used to like him. i think he looked the best when he was scruffy-longer hair, more facial hair. i find pretty boys like him and pitt look the best when they look i guess dirty and sweaty and unkept lol. sorta like josh hollaway.

For women who are my age (mid 30's) and can remember him as he was, there was a time when, believe it or not, Tom Cruise really was hot.

Now? He makes my skin crawl. And it's definitely not because he is gay...I'd actually find that hot (if he had just come out instead of going down the road he has)...It's because of everything else he is.

My step-dad used to really like Tom Cruise. Meaning, he was a big fan of his and would see every movie Tom put out. He thought Tom was one of the best young actors out there.

Tom isn't ugly, even when he was young, but I never thought he was 'hot'. Good actor, I'll give him that much because most of his movies are great. There was a time when anything he and Nicole Kidman made turned to gold. But he's definitely not beefcake material to me.

^^ I understand. I had all his movies. Then when he dumped Nicole Kidman and the interviewer said "what do you tell all your fans?" - he was "dating" Penelope Cruz "his twin" at the time.. he said "if they are with me, great. If they aren't then f' them" The rose colored glasses came off. Guess what I found out?.. he can't act. The last acting gig he did was in Magnolia. He can't do love scenes.. maybe he could if he was making love to a mirror.

Then he started with the rants "no such thing as mental illness, people come to me for help, Matt your glib" As he rants flames shoot out of his ample nostrils and his eyes shoot out red piercing rays. I think the f'er is scary and pretty dang dangerous, he's become the Pied Piper of Hollywood leading them and their money to the bank of Scientology.

^I know. unfortunately, I had a crush on him when Far and away came out, but when I got older, the crush went away. When he started fully promoting the Co$, the Matt Laurer interview, and of course finding out he is gay (through this website), that totally ruined everything. He repulses me now.
